#8He really deserved it. Great to see voters were able to vote on his performance alone and not judge him by his crappy team.

#9There has only ever been one winner (in either league) in the history of the award to have less than 15 wins (that wasn't a reliever, that didn't have any amount of saves). Fernando Valenzuela, 1981. He went 13-7 with a 2.48 ERA, 11 CG's and 8 shutouts.
Now there's two.
If David Price didn't suck as bad as he did in the postseason, he should have won it.Comment -

#12Uh, all this voting was done during the first week after the season, so no one really had time to account for playoff performance.Originally posted by herts9If David Price didn't suck as bad as he did in the postseason, he should have won it.
Yet, more, importantly if Price sucked a little less during the season and managed to pitch anywhere near as well as Felix, he might have won it.Comment -

#28I'm conflicted. I'm old school enough to think wins should count for something. I'm also new school enough to be on board with sabremetrics.
Yeah, I know the bullpen blew like 5-6 games for him and his team only scored one run in like half of his 12 losses. So, he coulda been 19-6 with a little luck. And I know Felix certainly had the "numbers"...
But I do think that pitching in meaningful games (like CC and Price had to do) for teams trying to win a division and make the playoffs should be worth something. King Felix faced no such pressure in the games he pitched in. His team sucked. We dont know how he would have pitched under similar pressure.
You can say he pitched under pressure because he knew his team sucked and was only going to score a couple of runs for him but that aint like starting the game with your team 1/2 game in or out of first place and knowing you gotta win to maintain pace with the Yanks/Rays/Sox..

#29CC had a great season but he had way more outings that were complete stinkers than King Felix.
I admit his number of wins is really low but he dominated everyone. Its not his fault that if he gave up 2 runs it was just about an automatic loss since the Ms couldn't score for him.Comment -

#31Felix could have won it the year before if not for the hype and golden boy image of Greinke. Felix pitched superbly and I'm glad that W/L record is not the only determining factor. CC had a grip of wins but the record was a bit bloated. His ERA was not that stellar either.Comment -
