I am in the process of interviewing a few people right now. I told them I don't even want their resume. Just show up and impress me and as long as you have a degree in the field. I throw in that I am going to check and need sealed transcripts. This will weed out the phonies.

At my last job, the resume was just considered a bonus. Every new hire was first asked to answer a few basic questions related to the job on the phone. If they were successful, they were brought in for a 2-hour test.

If you didn't even have a high school diploma but you aced the test you would get the job (never happened though).
If you had a 4-year degree in related field and were fresh out of college they cut you a little slack because they knew you had the ability to learn.
