People always bring up bad beats here but has anyone ever been robbed by having their internet service go out right as they were placing a winning bet that didn't go through or having a winning poker hand get shut out? Then if the bet was to be placed right before gametime you didn't have time to call the sportsbook to place the bet.

I know the old days of dialup used to cause more of this stuff where even cheesey internet software would shut your line down when there was an incoming call.Even with DSL-wireless-cable etc.there can be disruptions in service so I'm sure people here have some sad stories to tell.

Anyone have any good stories to tell about internet outages where they never got to place what would have been a losing bet?

Lost almost a $2K pot on WilliamHill (back when Americans could play there) in Omaha due to a power outage. The sick thing is that my opponent only had like $80 left in front of him, and I was going to put him all-in on the river with the nut full house.

I tried to justify it by saying that maybe he needed it more than me and everything happens as it should (nice fortune cookie line), but it still pissed me right the f*** off for sometime...

Bookmaker gave me a Free $50 tournament entry. 10 minutes before it was too start our power went out. The guy from bookmaker tried calling me saying I had 10 hands to get in. With the power out I also had no phones. Don't know how I would have done but it was annoying.

I have a cheap dial up account as a backup... works okay except in power outages when it doesn't make much difference...
