I know you're not this dumb. Shaq is a perfect fit for them and they needed a presence like him badly.

JJ: Lose in the 1st round? Are they even making the playoffs? They are heading off a cliff right now.

They really have destroyed this team. With Hill and Shaq, this team is playing two players big minutes who flat out can't shoot.

They're still a good team, and I can see them winning a series, but this is not a Championship caliber team.

Shaq looked terrible today. Did not seem like he was really giving it, even in the first half.

I do not think that the problem is with Shaq himself. The Suns still have a good starting lineup, it is their bench that gives no help whatsoever, just like last year. So, while I do think that on "per possession" basis Marion was more valuable for the Suns than Shaq will ever be, the main problem, I think, is that Marion played 12-15 more minutes than Shaq. That means 12-15 more minutes of playing time for the bench players. Who gets most of those minutes? Either Diaw, and he is just no good, or Barbosa who is having horrible season and his underperformance is what drags Suns down the most as he gets too many minutes.

It's one game. A noon game for Phoenix. Players looked half asleep. They lost the same home game big to the Pistons last season. Plus this is just the third game with Shaq in the lineup. I would throw out the first six games, because that's how long it takes to begin to gel. Once this teams has gelled I don't see who will beat them in a playoff series.

Is Detroit that good or it just that Phoenix played Dallas, LA, Boston , and Detroit all in a row?

JJ is right it is the same ole shit with this team. Its refusal to play defense. Will they wake up before the playoffs who knows. Not sure what is more painful to watch them play defense or Denver. You can't teach a defensive player to become an offesive player but you sure as hell can teach some of these lazy pricks to put a little effort into defense. I said this to someone last night. You give me a choice of Carmelo or Rip Hamilton i would take Rip in a heart beat. Who needs a guy to pump in forty when he gives up 40? Hell i even see AI at least giving an effort on defense but Carmelo is a joke. He should just stay down the offensive end because he just gets in the way on the defensive end.

Shack's whole deal is what the refs will give him. When he was this so called great player he fouled 18 times a night. If they give him his 18 fouls back he will be back in rare form. To me he is one of the most overrated players i ever saw. He shoots bricks two feet away from the basket. Never led the league in rebounding and is absolutely poison for your team in the last two minutes when you just foul him and send him to the line. I still think the good ole boys of the NBA will make sure Shack is there at the end tho.
