Anyone ever improvise on diet and food budget to use the money to gamble with?
I have seen it time and time again at every kind of place to gamble from race tracks to sportsbooks where I have seen people buy huge bags of expired bread meant for animal feed to eat and make every sandwhich known to mankind.I have seen guys buy a 98 cent bottle of generic Raguu spaghetti sauce and make a whole loaf of generic Raggu spaghetti sauce sandwhiches out of it and eat it in one sitting because that's all they eat in 24 hours.

Reno is the absolute worst for indigent gamblers bumming any kind of food they can get.I was on a typical western tourist trip one time seeing Yellowstone,Tahoe,The Tetons and Yousemmite.etc.and a bum in Reno saw me draining my cooler and bummed a stick of Blue Bonnet margarine off me and ate it like it was a candy bar.hehe!

What is the worst thing anyone here ate to save money so you could gamble with it instead?

I eat more when I gamble... the way I look at it is if I can throw thousands on basketball games...then food money is chump change

When I lose big gambling I eat like a slob to feel better. McDonald's, Chinese food, one after the other. Then I go work it off during the week.

When I was about a sophomore undergrad I blew all my money for the month at the dog track, took my last ten dollars and change in my car, and bought a bunch of those Little Debbie snack cake boxes (true story). I went roughly three weeks eating just those cakes and water. By about the second week I never wanted to touch one again, and I still haven't eaten one ever since. A Little Debbie to me is like Beethoven's 9th was to Alex in "A Clockwork Orange." Just seeing one literally makes me want to puke....
