Is Black Ops Worth Buying?

I would pass unless you love Nazi zombies. This one is made by Treyarch (World at War and COD 3) and really just isnt anywhere near as good as Modern Warfare 1 or 2. If I could do it again I would pass

Rent it or borrow it from someone if you dont know-

Im not a huge COD fan myself but will probably buy it anyways just to play online with some friends.

Around here the price is sometimes jacked up because of new games. if thats the case in your area too then wait for sure if youre going to buy it at all

I've played about 14 hours on PC Sunde and have racked up a lot of hours on all the previous games.
It's really more of the same with a few additions I'm sure you've heard about.
If you like the COD games, buy it, you will at least get your money's worth.
The campaign is a bit confusing but they put a fair bit of effort into it and zombie mode is just as fun as it was in world at war.

It's still rated really high at 92% aggregate from GameRanking (MW2 was 94%), but probably inflated from reputation.

Gameplay doesn't look that great on youtube. Rollplayer, good pointing out different developer.

Awesome game...zombies is sick with friends, online is awesome and the campaign is the best yet. I would get it if your a huge COD fan.

You should buy it. Worst comes to worst just trade it in after you play for a refund or store credit which you can put towards CODMW3 when it comes out.

I just found out that you can play split-screen online now! So I like this game now that I can play with my roommate now. Other than that it's just like all the other CODs

i dont think ive ever played a single call of duty campaign, i just play multiplayer....but apparently in this one, the ending is pretty damn cool (involving dead Presidents fighting zombies). i might have to play it for that. the multiplayer id say is just not quite on MW2s level. its a little bit laggier, the graphics aren't quite as crisp, and the maps are a little boring. they took stopping power out which is a huge bummer. but there is a crapload of customization and there are about 2 million people playing this at any given time on xbox live, so eh...id tepidly recommend it. an okay call of duty game will still be the best game of the year.

I haven't played Xbox in about 4 months, but decided to break out COD MW2 a week or 2 ago, and have played it about 5 times. Now I'm still trying to decide whether to get rid of my xbox and wii, and pick up a new xbox with kinect.

The developer, Activision, is garbage IMO.

Infinity Ward is the superior developer, and the Modern Warfare series is proof.
