#12I think some are missing the point. It was never about Kanye himself, it was the comment and the stage that it was presented on. He messed up in regards to Katrina - he admitted that. He took steps to make up for it and on national tv he was being wrongfully attacked. We all know Kanye is a moron.
I'm not a republican for the record. Just reflecting on what I just watched.
As far as 'wasting money in Iraq', based on his intelligence he felt he was doing the right thing. He did look extremely stupid after a while but at time ZERO.... I think we all would do the same thing. Unless you are an extreme and don't like ANY war whatsoever.
There were LOTS of times when he looked/sounded like a complete moron during his presidency but all in all I don't think he was as bad as most democrats make him out to be. Think about everything that happend during those 8 years.... Unimaginable.Comment -

Where were you in 1999? President Clinton was responsible for the most pressing deregulation bill in American history!! Lifting restraints on giant monopoly operations (which dominate the financial system).
You should do a little research. The blame is NOT all inclusive. It should be spread out over the heads of SEVERAL individuals. The subprime mortgage crises is deep, deeper than anyone can realize. The blame is endless.Comment -

Read my post again. I commented based on the 45 minute video that I watched. I am in no way validating that being called a racist is worse than a terrorist attack. How is that being a republican. I have voted for President 3 times, each and every time I voted Democrat... I'm 1-2.Comment -

Might come as a shock to you but the CDO's that were in the news due to the housing bubble are not the only ones of their kind...and NOT a creation of BushBanks bundle all sorts of things...even gym memberships held by Bally's and other publicly held companies.....the only reason anyone outside of finance knows of the terms now is because of the passing news stories. 2007/8 was just a perfect storm added by...as mentioned above...the push by the Dems to "give everyone a home..you a home...him a home...EVERYONE a home" backed by full faith and credit of uncle same let the banks go wild and cash in on the people who had no business owning a home.
Think of it like this...if you only make $19K a year but wanted to be a high roller in Vegas like a fat cat....and I flew you out there....showed you a hotel room with pallets of money and said....go wild....just gamble and have a blast....and if you lode money...I'll cover it no worries. What would you do? A) of course the people signed on to buy the homes and B) of course the banks jumped on to make moneyComment -

#22its not a coincidence that the mortgage meltdown began while the dunce was in charge.
he ordered all the banking deregulations and passed the worst welfare program which helped the poor buy homes by giving them thousands of dollars in free handouts.
this all happened 2003-4 which directly led to the housing bubble bursting few years later.Comment -

#24Are you high? Where did I "excuse Bush for basically every mistake he made"?
I did not agree with many provisions within the original 2001 Patriot act - However I do not mind the 2006 version at all. The Patriot Act is a very poor example for you to bring up by the way. The Act was passed by wide margins in both houses of Congress and was supported by members of both the Republican and Democratic parties.Comment -

#26Why the hell would I lie on a message board to a bunch of "gamblers"???
Why would I have to "disclose" the authors of the bill? Bottom line is that both Dems and Reps agreed on the bill and Clinton Signed it!! My point was that no ONE person is responsible for a collapse of a financial system the likes of which had not been witnessed since the great depression. A few guys were saying that Bush was solely responsible for deregulation... That my friend is simply not true. It doesn't matter if you are blue or red.Comment -

It is just not worth arguing over. Some people need a bogeyman like Bush because it is too terrifying to think that the entire system (reps and dems) has let us down.Comment -

#32Kanye lost a TON of street cred for 'apologizing' to W IMO. I suppose when you're a mutli-millionaire, your beliefs get soft.
I watched for DAYS americans dying after Katrina - and not because they were nailed by the storm. They were nailed by no one doing anything to help them.
To me, there's nothing worse than americans dying for ANY reason other than defending their nation or natural causes. MANY died because, for some reason, no one knew what was going on for 1/2 of a week, meanwhile, anyone with a television or internet connection knew otherwise.
Whilst people were dying in New Orleans, W was raising money for Republicans in California.
Horrible. Worse yet, we denied ALL help from other nations offering assistance. Thanks, W. You did a heckuva job.
Unforgiveable to me.Comment -
