CBS Sports is reporting Wade Phillips, Dallas Cowboys head coach has been officially fired and ESPN says his SUV wasn’t in the Cowboys’ Valley Ranch training facility parking lot as of 9 a.m. on Monday when he is usually in a meeting there with Jerry Jones.

IRVING, Texas -- Although his leased SUV was not in its customary parking spot Monday morning, Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips was seen at Valley Ranch by several team employees.

His car is usually parked outside the scouting department's office, and though carpooling wouldn't usually be news, Phillips is under fire for the team's 1-7 record.

It does not change anything. The players don't have any heart and now the cowboys don't have a defensive coordinator. I am pretty sure Phillips was there defensive coordinator too. The only player that looks like he gives an effort is Dez. There last two games were pathetic.

i think they'll make a move for Gruden as well but after the season ends. my belief is he wouldn't want to leave his tv job, and their $$$ as he is currently double dipping with the buccaneers, until seasons end.

This is a very logical move...... Jones would owe Garrett a sum of money if he wasn't picked to be the next coach. If Jones is no longer interested in having Garrett around either, then he can let Garrett babysit this season, fire him without paying him any contractual obligation, then get the coach he really wants.

Cowboys don't need much re-building they have some young guns on offense and defense. All that was missing was a half decent coaching staff. John Fox, Carolina Panthers current coach, his contract is up at the end of the year. Was reading about Jerry Jones maybe wanting to bring him over for the next year. Not a Cowboys fan (far from one) but thats good news!
