How is Merriweather questionable? Doesn't really matter regardless when you keep winning.

Patriots cut 2nd round 2008 pick, 3rd round 2009 pick

Football betting news and picks with focus on NFL, college football and sports betting legalization updates across the United States.

The New England Patriots made it official, announcing the previously reported transaction of activating Pro Bowl offensive guard Logan Mankins to the 53-man roster.
Mankins reported Tuesday. The restricted free agent signed his one-year tender.
The AFC East leaders cut cornerback Terrence Wheatley to create a roster spot for Mankins.
They also cut linebacker Tyrone McKenzie from the practice squad.
Mankins was originally drafted by the Patriots in the first round of the 2005 NFL draft out of Fresno State.
During his five seasons with the Patriots, Mankins has started 80 regular-season games and nine postseason games. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2007 and 2009 and was selected to the Associated Press All-Pro second team in 2007 and 2009.
Wheatley was originally drafted by New England in the second round of the 2008 NFL draft out of Colorado. He played in 11 NFL games with one start. He has struggled with injuries this season.
McKenzie was originally drafted by the Patriots in the third round of the 2009 NFL draft out of South Florida. He spent his rookie season on injured reserve with a knee injury and the first eight weeks of this season on the practice squad.

With one of the youngest teams in the NFl, sitting at 6-1 and having a boatload of draft picks in the first three rounds next year, I don't see them in that bad of a position. Is there any particular team you had in mind that hits on every draft pick?

But they still find a way to compete year after year for the last decade. Next years draft there loaded with picks in the first 3 rounds I believe.

They have not drafted as well as in years past, but as long as Brady is healthy all is good!

                            You forgot one thing, Scorpion:

                            2010!!:

                            1. Devin McCourty: Playing every snap, in the running for defensive rookie of the year. Amazing combo of cover skills and smarts.
                            2. Rob Gronkowski: Playing a LOT and contributing.
                            2. Jermaine Cunningham: Playing a LOTand contributing.
                            2. Brandon Spikes: Playing a LOT and contributing.
                            4. Aaron Hernandez: Leading the team in receiving and I think leading the league in tight end receiving yards, or close.
                            5. Zoltan Mesko: Near the top of the league rankings in punting.
7! Brandon Deaderick: Actually starting on the DL sometimes and playing a LOT and contributing. As a seventh rounder!!

Both are very overrated. They haven't won because of many coaching errors through the years. They've always had the talent.

Great in Reg season; flop in playoffs. It will happen again this year.

They may not have drafted well recently, but with as many second round picks as they have been getting they have to hit on some of them soon. It could just be a little bit of bad luck

                                      Hmm--

29 players on 53 man roster have been drafted in the last 4 years, 6 more were undrafted FAs in the last 4.

9 offensive/defensive starters were drafter in the last 4, also the starting punter, kicker, long snapper, as well as the leading Kick returner and Punt return were drafted in the last 4 years.

add in the fact they have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds and in reality they have done a great job over the last 4 years.

Actually they have drafted fairly well the last four years considering the talent available. Thats why you see BB picking up draft picks instead of players because of the lack of talent available. When you look at each draft you are essentially trying to fill in holes on your team. They have done a reallly good job at satisfying there needs. If you break down all the other teams past drafts you will see thats not the case for teams to fill needs but to draft the best player available. Bills, Colts, MIN all have drafted in the first round, players for a position which they have already filled is pointless. The whole draft is a crapshoot, so when you start a thread about there recent draft history maybe you should compare it to other teams drafts.

They don't seem to draft well in rounds 1-2 but they always get great pick ups in the later rounds.
