Affirmative action does not work in highly skilled professions where extensive exams and experience is required to be licensed. If you don't know what you're doing affrmative action is not going to help you. It may help you get in to school but you have to use your own brains to become succesful especially when your profession is responisble for life safety.

Exactly. Look what happened to our cities when affirmative action was the rage. Los Angeles was destroyed by affirmative action. Many other cities have meet the same fate. When you hire people who are mentally deficient, just because they are black, hispanic, or any other color, that is what you get.

This is why I said I don't mind it for school. But once you get admitted you have to produce the grades and then get a job and become succesful. You can't have affirmative action when hiring people. You hire the best candidates regardless of color.

Nearly every single person in support/secretary... Black ( and usually women)

I've now worked with two afirmative action women that didn't know how to send an email.... couldn't send a fricking email. I knew kids who could in 1992, but it's 2010 and they don't know how to operate a computer or outlook. This is handcuffing business. I've seen young, energetic college types get shot down due to affirmative action. It's something I feel strongly against. Strongly enough to fight/lose my job. These kids graduate school and can't get jobs because we are getting affirmative action shoved up our asses.

FYI: If you want to talk about the group that is really underrepresented in corporate America it's hispanics. They are already a larger segment of the population than blacks yet they aren't nearly as loud and they are way less represented. Same thing on TV and commercials.
