Gee, who was the party that started the massive bailouts

Who was the party fixated with war?

Who was the party that created massive security measures? (homeland security didn't even exist 10 years ago)

Who is the party that wants to spend enormous money policing the borders?

The GOP is responsible for 95% of the current debt, yet they act like Liberals are responsible for all of it.

Without the Liberals everyone on this board would be working for less than a 1.00 an hour, have no benefits and be required to join the military.

They even voted against extending unemployment benefits in a time for need for many Americans but when ever a request for money to support the troops or keep the war going you can count on 100% support from the GOP.

The GOP is a cancer to America and anyone not voting straight 'D' across the board is insane.

Spoken like a true flaming liberal. So now protecting the country from terrorists and policing our borders are a bad thing and a waste of money?

The majority of debt was created from the way in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Its funny, the USSR crumbled as a DIRECT, YES DIRECT result of their war with Afghanistan.... so America goes out and does the same thing.

                            Thats retarded.

If the USA falls as an empire, its because we ran out of cheap oil. This country wasn't built on principles.

Wouldn't us falling as an empire also mean China falls to? All of our debt they've invested in would be worth nothing.

                                  100% complete waste of money.

If we had more competent people in office capable of making friends rather than enemies we wouldn't have to piss this money away.

Folks the country always runs best when we have gridlock in office.. Which would mean a repub. house and senate. Too much government from either republicans or democrats are bad, but I would rather have too much Republicans than to much Liberals.

HUH? Emily, you can not appease people. The United States will always be hated abroad. We are hated for a multitude of reasons but namely because this country has always been a beacon of hope and opportunity. Now, Liberals like yourself go along way to fukking it up, but the truth is people still want to come here and be citizens from other countries. At this time nobody is leaving and giving up their citizenship.

                                            Not true.

Fleeing America and renouncing U.S. citizenship is now more expensive. With no warning, the U.S. Consular Services' fee for renouncing citizenship just went from no cost to a whopping $450. Appears the demand for such a service is increasing, so it's natural for the State Department to raise fees to meet demand, and put more money in U.S. coffers.

People should vote for which party/people that will benefit them the most. For a lot of people/organizations it does not make sense to vote D across the board. If I work for a Bank, or Insurance company why the hell would I vote D. I dont want to stereotype but I would venture to assume that most people voting D across the board have little stake in what is actually going on this country.

With no warning, the U.S. Consular Services' fee for renouncing citizenship just went from no cost to a whopping $450. Appears the demand for such a service is increasing, so it's natural for the State Department to raise fees to meet demand, and put more money in U.S. coffers.

Carry on. Have you renounced your citizenship yet? Truth is there will always be some nutbags out there such as yourself, but most humans would prefer to live in the USA. There is many more coming thru illegally everyday than renouncing their citizenship.

lyon I can agree some with your statement and I do remember when both parties were in with Bush and you seen what happened a big fat mess. I think gridlock gets nothing done at all considering how partisan it has become. I do think that there can be common ground on what issues are needed to be taken on and that is immigration for one. We went from one extreme to the other extreme and that isn't good. If there is about 50-50 in both would be best I think.

What if you dont necessarily want change? People are crazy to think an election will "change" anything. Every policy put in place has momentum and a new person cannot "change" things so easily. All you can do is know exactly who you are voting for and then vote them out if they do not do a satisfactory job. Everyone voting for Obama(change) was just caught up in the hype.
