Because you need something to get your team and fans motivated. Getting inside the 1 yard line and then kicking a field goal is demoralizing. Dallas needs a shot in the arm right now.

If they need something like that, kick the FG and if you score a TD in the second half, go for two. At least you close the gap that way.
