I don't believe the world world hates us but I do believe we're not trusted or respected by a whole lot of people any more either. I take some responsibility because I voted for GWB but I am also admitting that I put my money on the wrong horse & I am committed to voting for Barack Obama now.

I've been to 70+ countries in my life -- backpacking and hanging with the people since my funds have never been great -- and I can unequivocably say that 80-90% of the locals in every country like the USA and wish they could either come for a visit or stay longer ... the other 10-20% is very vocal, however ... they are the ones you hear ...

Just like after 9-11 ... I had just been in Indonesia and Bangladesh and thought the locals of these Muslim countries were incredible to me ... then, I look on the news in India and it made it look like these entire countries wanted all of us dead.

      Propaganda. Not true.

And even if it were true, does it really matter? Does the CEO of a company really concern himself too much with winning the respect of the workers? Or does he put the company's profitability first, before all else, because that is, ultimately, his primary responsibility to the shareholders?

I love my country but I have noticed a lot of Americans know very little about the rest of the world. I believe a 2nd language should be a mandatory class in elementary. bring back world geography. The world is getting smaller folks, we have to educate ourselves. We can no longer have this myopian view of things. this will make us a greater nation and better people as a whole.

I really think we need the next president to understand and actually impliment a positive foreign policy. Bush did not expect nato and the other UN allies to withdrawl support and keep it withheld. He thought they would go along to get along and simply put they haven't.

Obama understands Foreign policy very well, Hilary is above average with it, Obama is better. Bush is a retard, and McCain is above average at it.

Think what you want in the past 8 years the world in general has done a 180 in there opinion of the US. 10 years ago nobody would have thought our allies would with hold the amount of support needed to fight two wars, that is currently been done. Now were overextended. You can't honestly think that if a war opened up in asia say Taiwan was going to be invaded or japan attacked, we could defend them adequately as we should be able to do.

Just an example. Our at home readiness is below substandard ratings. And the longer Iraq goes on the more the world hates us.

The statement posed above could be argued on so many facets. Much of the worldwide hatred of our America comes down to the simple fact that our nation is now a steamrolling machine of greed. I truly don't believe our forefathers could have ever envisioned a society as it stands today, and I highly doubt that they would have intended to create a political system that functions as it does currently. Whether you're talking about the election process, lobbyists, foreign trade agreements, treaties, the military, farm subsidies, or virtually any bill that's passed in Congress, everything this government does is motivated by personal greed of some kind. The entire system serves the economically powerful members of our society and advances their dominance over us and the rest of the world. A greed machine cares not whose toes are stepped on as long as they are doing the stepping. Could this promote some hostility? It certainly does. Sadly, there are many Americans who think this is some how justified. Meanwhile, this very same system is beginning to take away their own jobs and creating factories and offices in the very same third world countries they berate to take advantage of the slave labor wages they can get away with paying. Before they even realize it, they are in the same class as the workers of that very same third world country and now the greed machine is controlled by even fewer at the top as they continue to assert their dominant economic monopolies and control every single policy created on the floors of our government. Think people! Your government is being taken from you. Are you going to do ANYTHING about it?!?!?!?!?
