    Bad beats in NCAAB overtimes
Did anyone play Wiscy-Mil tonight? I had +6 against Butler. I was feeling smart right up until overtime, then Wiscy lost by 8

What's the worst overtime loss you've had?

as of lately...a UAB pick'em that went to double OT. had a chance to go up 1 w/ a few seconds to go on OT but missed the first and hit the second to send it to double...and i think 3 or 4 days before that i took montana to win by 4 to cover. up 6 w/ 14 seconds to go...foul to stay up by 4...get fouled w/ 10 seconds in bonus and miss the ft and the other team runs down and scores to be down 2 with 5 seconds left...montana gets fouled again w/ a second to go still in bonus and misses the 1&1 again to win by 2...

Didn't have 'em myself, but the Clemson backers from Sunday should be arriving en masse shortly.

I had quite a few to start the season, but everything has leveled off. I usually get burned in conference/NCAA tourny time.

A few days ago I had SEMO +8.5 that lost in OT and then Clemson +9 the next night that lost in double OT. Tonight though I was on the wrong side but had the right outcome with Butler -6.

Don't feel like your the only one Justin. I had Wiscy-Mil as well tonight.

They just had to hit that 3 to send it into OT didn't they.

You are correct as I had them once in those games (Florida I think). That's why I listed Virginia as my best bet since UNC hasn't impressed lately.

Many college basketball OT games end up in blowouts where as NBA games end up tight and have no clue why.

Have had plenty in the last few weeks alone, but nothing hurt as bad as Pacific losing in Double OT to Boston College in Round 1 of the 2005 NCAA tourney.

Pacific was getting 8 and had easy chances to win the game outright in regulation and the 1st OT only to completely fall apart in the 2nd extra session losing by 11.

                              Coach,

I think a lot of it is mental. Teams blow big leads and go from almost certain victory to 5 minutes of extra basketball and they lose focus. The recent UW-Mil and Clemson losses are perfect examples. Tough for kids to keep playing when they know they should already be celebrating a big win.

College coaches are also more likely to foul at the end of games with the outcome already decided.
