#2It's definitly a big part. But, you can recruit the most talented kids in the country, and if you can't coach a lick, you won't be winning many National Championships in my opinion.Comment

if your ranking coaches, lets talk about nick saban, how do you rank the guy? i mean he takes over a decent team and loses to la monroe, but he backs that up by bringing in the nations #1 recruiting class. hes one a national title, but only with the best players.Comment

i believe that Locksley is the big recruiter there. in fact, i know that he is. Davis, Benn, and these guys didnt come for Zook. No doubt that zook does a decent job, but life will get tougher once Locksley gets a HC offer.Comment

yeah thats was funny, i was hoping you would ask. locksley cleans up the dc/md area and fact is, a lot of the younger african american guys are great recruiters. the kids feel that they can relate and locksley is probably the best at it. his son is at illinois now so im not sure if he'll leave, but ive got to think someone will take a chance on him. perhaps cuse.Comment

haha they used to. my uncle was their OC for a couple years. he coached them with mcnabb and marvin graves and those teams held a lot of big-east records. since then they've been embarrassing. i was hoping he would get a call for the HC job up there, mcnabb has spoke up for him a bit, but they haven't called.Comment

#22Head coaches don't do the grunt work involved in recruiting. That falls on the assistant coaches. Head coach just gets credit for it.

#23Head coaches did it at one time though. I just met Les Miles a couple of weeks ago. That guy could recruit like gang busters if he wanted. He sold me and I've seen all kinds come through.Originally posted by BAUSHead coaches don't do the grunt work involved in recruiting. That falls on the assistant coaches. #25The last thing Fulmer talks to you about is football. He asks about family and such. At least that is my experience. Miles just talks about how much fun he has at LSU and how fun the experiences of the past year were. He said OSU had no grit. They had been in wars every week and weren't worried at all by OSU's fast start.Originally posted by mofomehaha how did he sell you? ive heard fulmer is as good as they come. recruiting to a place that has little in-state talent aint easy.Comment
