Does Boise Cover??

I think we can agree that Boise athletes > LT athletes (NFL quality or not) According the the computers margin of victory may not matter, but in the voters eyes it does. It will hurt Boise far more to win this game by < 20 pts than it will help them to win by 40+. They are going to do enough to show people that they can have their way and build a comfortable lead. The only reason LT can cover is because Boise may shut it down and LT gets a backdoor it.

Just take the Usain Bolt approach...start out blazing fast and then cruise in for the win. Let's not make it anymore complicated than it already seems to be guys.

where do you see a moneyline. not on my 3 books, and if there was one it wouldn't be worth the play. unless your putting a million dollar bet on it.

over seems a little high , imo i see the trying for a shutout. the defense has been most impressive this year and will look to show the country they are not just a run and gun team.

I hear ya Kurt...I'm just simply looking at the trend for Boise this season.

1st qtr. Totals

VT- 17
Wyoming- 17
Oregon St- 14
New Mexico St- 24
Toledo- 22
San Jose St.- 21

I think I may stay away from the over as well.. I'm still recovering from that crap at San Jose St. 41 1st half points and still couldn't hit the over. Then again, I think LT will at least score once.

Wow, I'm a little surprised about this.

I'd rather pull for the 1st half point total (listed at 34.) Boise comes out of the blocks fast in every game.

Should they cover the line (37.5 at my book currently)? Yes. A warm weather team (LT) traveling to a cold weather stadium where it could be rainy and messy? A team with one of the best offenses in the country going against one of the worst defenses in the country?

Yes, they can (and probably will) cover.

However, the 1st half total has hit 34 or higher in EVERY Boise St. game this year.

Against some of the better opponents LT has played against (Texas A&M, Hawaii, and Idaho), the first half totals were 31, 31 and 31.

I'd like to think that Boise is a bit better (especially at home) than those three teams, so an extra score is certainly doable.

There is no reason to believe that it wouldn't hit tonight; that's where my money will be.

I like LA tech to get the cover. This style points stuff is being way too over-rated. "style points" are assuming that Boise State could run up the score at will, and I don't they will be able to against this team, LA tech are decent at stopping the run, and in a game with a 38 point spread, you are going to see a lot more running from Boise St. than passing, especially in the 2nd half when trying to kill clock. And I think Boise will have to score 60+ to be able to cover the spread anyway, LA tech's offense looks great ever since Ross Jenkins took over as the full time starting QB. He put up 422 yards last week and has a completion % of over 70% on the year. LA tech should be able to put up at least a couple scores on Boise.

Betus is a good dog book, because it appears they always juice the heck out of the favorites lines. I swear that some of these favorites are 3 pt larger than at basically every other book. its ridiculous.
