No, teams like the Twins that build from within and still win 90 games every year "do everything the right way".

The Yankees just have more money than anyone else so if they have a hole, they just plug it up by buying another superstar. That is the total opposite of doing it the right way. Plus, their arrogance makes the Yankees easy to hate too.

Look at the Twins roster though. Most of team came up through Minnesota system. The Twins spend their money by locking up their young talent long term.

The Yankees spend their money by just getting any superstar they want.

Not all of them obviously, but look at their current roster. Outside of Thome, who is just a role players these days anyway, it is all home grown talent.

How about spending it to develop a farm system. Cano is the first Yankee farmhand worth anything since the Jeter/Rivera/Pettitte era 15 years ago.

now the Yankees farm system is not what it was 15 years ago..that team won 4 series in 5 years.

They did not get Clift Lee this year to preserve the farm system
