While you guys have been getting distracted by JJ and his ghost's/business partners, the King has been going over footage and studying tonights game.. I came to one conclusion, this game can go either way, and I don't even think the books are confident one way or another. Although you may think its fun to laugh at Landers all day, if you keep following JJ and his ghosts around forumville, you will be in Brocks situation yourself before you know it.. It's all part of the evil plan.. They get you to the point where you are completely consumed by the happenings here, then when you least expect it, JJ will mention some fukkin useless game thats about to start in hopes of getting you guys to put action on it..
Anyways, back to the game..
There are way too many unknowns to feel comfortable betting this game before it starts. The main key will be which offense will be able to contain the other teams Defensive Line and take advantage of a couple below average secondaries. If these defensive lines dominate, mistake prone Manning and Romo could turn this game on its head one way or another before halftime so you never can be sure. This is why I suggest waiting till halftime to see who has a better game plan going in to slow down the other teams D-Line.
What to look for from the Giants
The Giants will try to slow down Ware and the Cowboys d-line by simply running A.Bradshaw and B.Jacobs right at them. If they are successful doing this in the first half and the game stays close, Im going to load up on the G-Men at halftime because it will only be a matter of time before Manning shreds the Cowboys secondary. Did you see what V.Young did to these guys? It was pathetic, the Titans threat of a running game put all the pressure on the Cowboys secondary and they didn't respond. Good luck stopping H.Nicks and S.Smith if Manning has time, IF they run the ball well in the first half, he will have some chances in the second half..
What to look for from the Cowboys
The Cowboys should try to slow down the Giants D-line in a different way. They will run a little, but their bread and butter will remain wide receiver screens and draw plays. These are historically the way to attack overpowering D-Line, so maybe they have a slight edge coming in here. If they are having success with these type plays in the first half the Giants will be in big trouble. It will almost completely take away the pass rush and open up big plays later on down field. I think the Cowboys offense is a little bit too technical and requires almost perfect execution by all 11 guys. This is why people always think they are better than they actually are because when they are on they look unbeatable....But if the Giants can disrupt thier timing, watch out.. it could turn into a route.
See you at halftime, half of you will know you are on the wrong side by then.. those of us that wait will have the option to get on the right side or pass all together...
