judging by his press conference alone, he wants to
I think Bret Favre knows its time to retire

#37Originally posted by Machine ChoiceThe guy threw for 30 TDs and only 7 picks last year and went to the NFC championship. That put him in the top 10% of QBs in the league. Easy now to say he should have retired, but the stats say he should have returned. And he did.
Your right it does say return. But now he is 41 and averages 2 interception a game. Now he has tendionitis in his elbow and hops around on one foot. that says retire... If he retires he does it with dignity if he doesnt he is just a piece of sh*tComment -

#39Difference between a great season and a poor season is very small in the NFL. Last year against the Niners Favre connected with a receiver at the end of the game with a throw from around midfield, just like tonight. But last season, the feet were just in, and tonight one foot was not. Little things that you can't control, but that make all the difference.
Childress was an idiot not to challenge that first TD. The refs sucked, but at least call a timeout to have some more time to look at the video. Surely your players can tell you it was not a TD? It wasn't like he was saving the timeout either. He just threw it away at the end of the half. I don't understand this coach at all.
In any case, you can't expect the Vikings to overcome 8 pts that the refs handed to Green Bay. Twice the difference between a TD and a FG; both time in favor of GB. I have never seen such a clean TD taken away as the one the zebras stole from the Vikings tonight.Comment -

#45You guys are funny........if Harvin drops 1 ft in bounds the guy is a hero...............
Watching all the games this yr I still think the Vikings have as much talent top to bottom as any team in the league. They have had a pretty difficult schedule thru 6 games........Dallas, Miami, at NO, at NYJ, at GB
Miami, no,nyj and gb all comes down to the last drive of the game
I still think they win that division.........Comment -

Dude you can't use the ground to help get possession. That was a trap, and I didn't know what the announcers were talking about. I had GB -2.5 and Vikes +9 on a couple teasers so at that point in the game I was pretty neutral.Originally posted by Dark HorseI have never seen such a clean TD taken away as the one the zebras stole from the Vikings tonight.Walter forgot... when you're desperate's when you got no choice.Comment -

But at this point I think Jackson should get a start whats the worst that can happen he can play as bad as Favre is?...The only person holding that team together right now is Peterson.Originally posted by DaveyboyI agree, it's time for him to step down now too. Very sharp post. I share many of the same sentiments. The very first post was my exact same thoughts because I remember the catch from last year against San Fran at the end of the game.
Farve is the ole gun slinger. He is a little older now and more beat up with the ankle and arm problems but he still throws the ball with alot of velocity and still thinks he can throw it thru a car wash without getting it wet.
Farve has thrown a many, many, many int. in his career, but if he did not throw so hard he would have thrown more. He could have easily thrown 6 int. last nite if the Packers could catch. I think some of the DB's are surprised when it comes buzzing at there numbers. No lie he still throws the shit out of the ball bad arm or not.
I think Farve if he does suit it up in New England it will be ugly on Sunday. I think he is finished for good now and needs to take some games off and let the back up run the team and try to manage the game better. Problem with Farve is you win it or lose it with him behind the controls and Minny is good enough they don't need a QB to be a hero. Just manage the game and take what the defense gives you. Farve believes he can make all the throws and nobody can. Sometimes you need to just throw it away because it ain't their. Nothing wrong with throwing a check down or simply just punt the football. Minny outplayed G.B. last nite and it was evident they are a better team.
If the back up struggles then let farve come back and throw some more picks but with him struggling and being beat up I think he needs to put that streak in his back pocket and let Jackson QB the team. If Jackson stinks than come back and do your thang.
But yeah, that coach is an idiot as well..Comment -

If there had been no ground at all, if he had been flying in space, would he have had possession (before he ever came to earth)? Yes.
He also had full possession after he landed. The ground in no way helped him to catch the ball. The ground could have caused the ball to come out, but it did not.Comment -
