Anyone think they do this as a living or just a part time job? Mods can't get paid that much can they?

#3Anywhere from 500-5000 mo....depending on the site and the quality of the mod.
Two popular gaming forums paid mods 1000-3000 per month at their peak.Comment -

#16Not sure if mods have health benefits like insurance but because the job requires them to basically be in front of the computer all day they will have many health problems like vision, migraines, blood clots in the legs, high blood pressure, etc. With a quick estimate I did being a mod may actually be worse than smoking 2 packs a day.Originally posted by jjgoldVoice of reason like usualComment -

SBR has excellent mods, every one of them is under paid. Hopefully that will change soon as the industry slowly makes a comeback.Comment -

#20John this is unrelated to the mod pays but shouldn't the industry thrive when the economy is bad and tank when the economy is good? Isn't gambling people's last resort at desperate times? Why are you so optimistic about the industry?Originally posted by SBR_JohnLOL... Frigging JJ.

#22Mods make bigtime paper! HUGE! I snuck into a private mod party once and it was unreal, Ferrari's everywhere, these guys cry the poormouth but actually all make mid 6 figures and up. #26I think it did much better in the previous recessions. Not this one though. This world wide real estate and banking meltdown has really hurt the gaming industry. Vegas is reeling. Then throw in the US's crackdown on money movement and you get a near depression for the online gambling companies.Originally posted by pavyracerJohn this is unrelated to the mod pays but shouldn't the industry thrive when the economy is bad and tank when the economy is good? I think the lows have been made as the economy is no longer in a free fall and gaming companies adjust. But for front line guys like the mods and programmers its unfortunate because they have worked so hard. But like I said I think the industry will recover and already a lot of good signs out there.Comment -

#31I'm not sure how much they get exactly. but based on my experience... when SBR approached me last year to become a Head mod, they offered me the job and told me they'd pay me whatever i wanted... i asked for 12k a month and they said sure...
but then i decided to not do it. It wasn't worth it for me for only 100k/yr..
