    Terry Bradshaw & Joe Montana
both these guys didn't show up in detroit for the festivities at all i noticed.

Terry Bradshaw said he wanted to be with his family. while Joe Montana said that he wasn't guaranteed enough money to make it worth his while for showing up.

i can understand bradshaw's excuse, but Montana's excuse was just out right greed i felt.

they were talking about this on the radio when i was on my way back home this afternoon. 2 league sources made that claim in regards to that being the reason. one source being an unknown NFL team owner.

Not impressed with Bradshaw either, he should've been there with his Steelers. Surely his family could have come too.

I did enjoy that part of the pregame. It brought back memories of the old Super Bowls when seeing the MVPs.

                    Same here.

I give Joe a pass on this one. If he had better things to do, that's his choice. If he asked for money, that's his right as well.

As for Bradshaw, same thing. I don't know if Bradshaw wants to be linked with the new era of Steelers so much. Bradshaw even picked the Steelers to not make the playoffs during a FOX pregame around week 12. Maybe he doesn't really want to pass the torch.

If anything, I blame the NFL. If they want to parade these guys out, make it worth it for them. 100k might be a bit steep even for a 3 time SB MVP, but I'm sure something might have been worked out.

I hope for Joe's sake this isn't true. It would be really sad if it were.

The 49ers have always been my team ever since I started following football as a boy. I lived in the Monterey Bay area and that is well within SF's sphere of influence. Believe me when I say this: Joe's greatness does not extend beyond the field. He is beloved only for his NFL accomplishments and nothing more.

I am not surprised at all. He has always been bitter about his lack of endorsement money and he has always thought his name was worth more money than he ever received.
