Dancing queen of HSBC sashays into retirement

Banker Mimi Monica Wong, who became the talk of the town when she signed up for HK$120 million in dancing lessons, is hanging up her office shoes.
The HSBC private banking chief is retiring at year-end after 27 years with the lender.
Wong sued two Latin dance instructors in 2006 after she handed over a prepayment of HK$62 million for unlimited dancing lessons.
But she said the pair verbally abused and embarrassed her in front of associates, and won her money back.
In retirement, Wong, who has won dancing titles overseas, will get more time to spend in the ballroom rather than the boardroom.
"Dancing is my passion," she once said. "I will continue to dance and compete for as long as possible."
