    moneybookers and canadian accounts
    Hi,

was checking out the moneybookres website and it mentioned withdrawals require a SWIFT code. For those familiar with canadian banks, specifically scotiabank: do you know if there are any deposit/withdrawal charges imposed?

    thanks for the help

Scotiabank will likely charge $10 for receiving a wire from Moneybookers. I know Royal Bank (RBC) charges $15 & CIBC charges $10 for this. I really wish Moneybookers was able to use "ach" or "eft" for sending funds to Canadian banks the same way Instadebit does (& Neteller used to), its faster and costs nothing to receive money this way.

The "SWIFT" code for Scotiabank is: NOSCCATT

thanks. are you aware of the wire transfer fees for canadian banks?
i tried to email them but they are very slow in responding.

and from what ive seen wire transfers online are impossible on scotiabank. all i see is debit transfers. does your canadian account allow wire tansfers? i may need to switch

      thanks

All canadian banks allow wire transfers. It's the cost of those transfers that eats ya up. TD charges $10 for a wire to come in.

Moneybookers allows you to fund your account with a wire transfer OR a credit card (****). I believe they charge 1.9% to fund with a credit card and your bank likely charges between $35-$40 to send a wire transfer.

The way I avoid fees is to use Western Union to fund my Pinnacle account, Pinny reimburses the $15 fee if you send $1000 or more, you can then request a payout from Pinny via Moneybookers and have a balance in your Moneybookers account, of course you should give Pinny some action.

You should also consider Instadebit, combined with Moneybookers and you're good to go.

They accept UK issued debit cards, not the ones from Canada.
You will have to use a **** credit card or Moneybookers to fund your Betfair account.
