Pavlos, I think most Americans are actually smart enough to think on their own. And they realize that it is extremist in the Muslim faith that carried out the heinous acts which causes people to be wary. It is a true fact that actions speak louder than words. The people who fired Mr. Williams are just as sheepish as any other group.Comment -

One would think, of all places to find the explanation to this question, it would be here where people deal with risk/probabililty/gambling every day. It goes to show you how politics make people "think" emotionally and therefore get it wrong.
The probability that any person at large, knowing nothing about him, is a terrorist/would aid terrorists/would cause a ruckus given a certain scenario is very small. The odds, when given the information that someone is a muslim, rise dramatically and exponentially.
Juan Williams is not acting irrationally or even feeling irrationally when he said such things. He is acting using information and limited information, similar to the former poster when he talked about trench coat in 90 deg weather --> BE ON YOUR GUARD. This is completely rational. The most detrimental aspects of PC culture occur when people have been indoctrinated that they shouldn't use their gut or experience and discriminate (read: the word means choose) one from another in any given scenario. If you don't do this, you will get hurt eventually.
Muslims haven't changed for 1400 years. In the US they are small potatoes, often overstated but ~1 to 1.5 million people. Go to any country in the history of the world (including today) and check it out when they are the majority ... and then look out. You can't even imagine how life is in these places. Spoiled, ignorant (willingly) and ideal Americans don't bother to look around and see what is going on. 99.9999% of terrorists are muslim. That's just calling it how it is. Big Mo's example and mainstream islamic teachings are WHY.
Anyone can call himself anything he wants, but the important thing is whether he does or does not follow the teachings. Suffice to just check out what Mo did during his life and come to your own conclusion. It's pretty obvious what he was --- and why they act the way they do.
The sooner people wise up the better. Sadly, many others are going to need to witness another 9/11 to really get it.
NPR unknowingly did us all a huge favor, exposing their idiocy as well as all of their defenders. These same people will lose out next week in the elections and hopefully will be exposed moving ahead, as their ideals are not based in reality.Comment -
Another analyst on NPR wished Senator Jesse Helms would die and his grandchildren would get AIDS because of his position on gay rights....the consensus was that this NPR analyst was being provocative and thoughtful

Your odds of dying in a plane crash due to weather issues or electrical/mechanical failure are far greater than because of some Islamist extremist on your flight. If Williams is also fearful of that one micron filter failing on a hydraulic line, then I guess he's being rational. If he's only concerned with a Muslim being on his flight, his fears are very irrational.Comment -
