    What's The Official Rule on Bobbling A Catch?
    So obviously you can't just bobble a baseball until you are in good position to hold the runner on third right?

      If you are talking about a sac fly, the rule is that the baserunner can leave the moment the player is at the beginning of his catch.(ball contacting the glove) This prevents the player from bobbling the ball for an extended period of time until he gets himself into a better position to make the play. Without this rule, conceivably a player could `bobble`the ball until he ran all the way to the infield thus preventing a sac fly.
