    Tip about using restaurant.com certificates....
If you've bought them before, you might be able to use the same one again without buying it again.

The restaurant is supposed to call in a number that cancels it once used. I don't think they get paid for that so many places don't bother with that.

I found I have 9 available for my favorite restaurant.

just log-in to your account, if it shows there you can use it again....I'd make sure it was at least a week or two old. The restaurant owner might just want you to be able to use it again or cares nothing about restaurant.com getting more money !

    Manage Your Gift Certificates

Easy access to your previous purchases:
This page allows you to manage your gift certificates purchased from Restaurant.com in a quick and easy way.

    NEW!
To improve your Restaurant.com experience, you no longer have to self-manage your gift certificate purchases. Once you have dined at the restaurant, our service will remove that certificate from your account. Your list of available certificates will automatically be updated on a routine basis. If for some reason a certificate appears in your account that you have already used, you can manually remove that certificate from the list by clicking on the certificate number and then click the "Remove this Certificate" link on the Gift Certificate Summary page.

If you have given the certificate as a gift and would like it removed from your account so that you do not accidentally use the certificate, please click on the certificate number and then click on the "Remove this Certificate" link on the Gift Certificate Summary page.

If you have questions about Certificates you have purchased, but that are no longer displayed in your account, you can email us at help@restaurant.com.

Doug, you're correct....I have a place that has certificates available on restaurant.com and we don't get anything for what's sold on there....just a guarantee that the customer has to spend a certain amount of money to get the value.

Frankly we're not going to call in a certificate the moment it's redeemed anyway so if we'd called one in and you reuse the same certificate we'd never know....don't really care either. The only time it might matter is if we came off of the site, and they've told us that we have the right to deny all certificates if we ever came off the site.

Does restaurant.com help your business ?

I usually wind up paying about $21 with tip for a very good dinner for two, can't beat it. typical check is $39. Bill becomes $14 +$7 tip for $21. Waitstaff is ensured of an 18% tip too, so they don't mind the certificates.

If you are using used certificates to eat means you don't win gambling.

I bought a bunch of these certificates for $1 the other day.. I also used ebates and got an additional 15% off and it came out to $0.85

I'm not overly concerned on reusing them when they are always on sale for $2 or $3 dollars and in my case $1

No just being frugal. I knew I had printed out a certificates for my favorite place and had one left but couldn't find the damn thing, so I called R.com to find out the number of the unused one, turns out I have 9 unused for the place because the restauranteur doesn't call them in.

no point in buying it again if it's already in your account. Saves a step, too !

I'm not saying it will be there after used, but it could be.

R.com needs to plug this hole.....the merchant needs a reason to call in to cancel the certificate.

Fishhead beat the slots for $500,000 and bought a $300,000 farm in Iowa with cash. But yeah he can't afford to pay for a meal without coupons.
