Yeah, heard of it and seen it. Its been around for at least 2-3 years, maybe longer. Its pretty much a virtual world, but the world is exactly how the real world looks. For example, it has all college campuses and they are laid out exactly how the real college campus looks. Supposedly there are people that make money off it, because they set up virtual stores and people pay real money to buy stuff from their virtual store for their second life character. Kind of interesting, but not really my thing.

Game is pretty dated by now. If they ever rolled out an updated version I may give it a try. I know a few people who made enough to pay their play fee and a bit extra.

the crazy thing is how much money this second life generates for some users. It is literally virtual- real estate and advertising hidden behind a poorly designed game and the people who played it right make a filthy amount of money for it.

Yea thats where I heard about it too. It seems like a great way to advertise yourself or site to tons of people relatively cheaply.

In March 2009, it has become known that there exist a few Second Life entrepreneurs, who have grossed in excess of 1 million US$ per year.

Profits are derived from selling virtual goods, renting land, and a broad range of services.

people will spend $ on almost anything. I saw that game a few years back and thought it was for losers. I guess it's for losers with cash. Damn.

Paco, in your case it would be 8th or 9th Life cause you already have……………………..

                                        Your home and work life.

                                        Your hustler’s life.

                                        Your gambling life.

Your King of Vegas Bash life.

Your potentially most thread views ever life.

I’m sure I am missing a few but I can’t honestly see how you could find the time to add any more lives unless you clone yourself.

I also saw this game because of the CSI episode haha. I checked it out and one example I witnessed was the real estate in this game is no different than the real world. One player payed whatever amount nescesary to build a mall in second life. Once the mall was built other players payed him to rent out stores and sell all kinds of goods in second life from books to shoes. You have to pay real money to get second life money.

I heard many people have gotten more caught up in there 2nd life than reality

edit: just saw the previous comment of some people actually made bank from it.

Like Ron said, some people will pay for anything I guess.
