Matchbook Baseball

I've basically only used Matchbook for basketball, and sometimes football.

In the NBA and NCAABB I only bet $100 a unit.
In the NFL I bet $1000 a unit.
In MLB I bet $1000 a unit.

For some reason, it's always a bitch to get books to raise limits on baseball for me. It's not like the NFL. They never want to do it. Even Bookmaker gave me a problem a couple times, telling me I had to talk to the Line Manager. I always have to split my plays between two or three diff books and for me that's a pain in the ass for baseball. I wanted to use Matchbook only for the MLB this season, as I heard a lot of good things, and I need to know what I'm doing soon. I have to bleed out my NFL accts for the next 3-4 weeks, and want to know where the funds are going.

So, say I wanted to put $5000 on a regular season MLB game, for talk say, Rangers @ Devil Rays, and I put it in at 12:00PM, what's the likeliness that I'll have $5,000 on that game by the time 7:00PM rolls around? What about $10,000? I never had to worry about it on the NFL, but do they get a lot of baseball action? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Matchbook is a must to use when it comes to betting bases IMHOO. The only limits they have is what you have in your account.

lol, yeah, it could be wayyyy worse. Bleeding accts, spreading money thin through various accts, withdrawing from one acct to the other because you lost big on one, but are up big on the other two, believe it or not, can be a pain in the ass. ** and ** aren't bad but they have tiny daily limits, and on top of it my new bank thinks I'm involved with organized crime with all these bank wires to foreign countries, etc...

What Dan is basically saying is there are no limits. If you have $200,000 in your account, you could put it all on one game, and if it gets matched, Matchbook will pay you with a smile if you win.

But yeah, that's what I was trying to say in the first post, does anyone know if I went "big" (for me), what is the likeliness it would get matched. $5000-$10,000? I know the NFL is no problem, just haven't played bases there.

If you put it in at 12pm for a 7pm game you could probably have $100,000 matched as long as your numbers are competitive. You will have no problem getting down the amounts you're talking about. The only time you might have trouble is trying to make a largish (>$3-4k) bet in the last ten minutes on a game where the line is moving quickly. Even then you'll usually be okay.

Matchbook finished last year offering 1% commission on Baseball for about the last 1-2 months (can't remember exactly) as well as the playoffs. Anyone know if this may carry over to this season as a permanent change?

Matchbook is the best for baseball. They have many 1-cent and 2-cent lines as gametime approaches, which after 2% commission tranlates to appoximately 3-cents and 4-cents. If you have a Matchbook account and a 5 Dimes account for their nickel overnights, you should be set.

As for hockey, Matchbook is very good for money lines, but they have no puck lines.

Matchbook's MLB markets vary in terms of liquidity. Essentially there is a 'baseline' liquidity level and then it depends on who wants the other side, but if you want $5K-10K you should usually be able to (after commissions) get an effective 8 cent-wide line (-104 pricing) on average. Sometimes you'll be supertight and get 6 (-103), sometimes you'll need to chase a little and pay 10 (-105). The 100K bet isn't as easy as people think, you'll have to pay more vig, but you can get it in if you want it enough. Getting down on totals or runlines for more than 1-2K will be more expensive in terms of time and/or vig, but still cheaper than a full-vig book every time and you can get the 5-10K easy enough. Matchbook can stand alone other than for overnights, if you need it to, but if you're at this level I recommend getting a way into Pinnacle as well.

If you're running $50,000 or more a week through MB you should talk to them about being a market maker and getting a further discount.

Last year they ended the season with a one percent commission, and given that dime lines are standard it would be nice to see them make that "promotion" their regular rate.
