How or why is Desmond Howard employed by ESPN?

I can't believe the best ESPN could do is Desmond Howard. He is unwatchable----talks like he has a sack full of marbles in his mouth, and never has anything of value to add to any conversation.

There are many---many----solid minorities that could fill his role much better.

How about Emmitt Smith? Hell, Michael Irvin on a college broadcast would be very good-----Aaron Taylor is good, even Andre Ware knows the game very well.

The only reason I can come up with why ESPN hired him is because they got him cheap....really cheap.

I think Desmond is a good character he's funny and lightens the mood he play well off of corso. I don't think he knows anything about college football but I like him on college gameday

probably cuz desmond was absolutely insane in college... history has shown on sports shows, that you do not need to be a great personality on t.v. you just need to be a once upon a superstar... which he was and people will listen to his every word even if it is garbage just because they are fans
