Time for me to leave 5dimes, they cut my limits yesterday down to $100 a game!
SHIT!!
I even tried to call in a $700 PROP BET and they would only allow up to $100. Time to search for greener pastures

5Dimes is more tolerant then what their forum reputation would suggest, but no, if someone is a professional bettor then 5Dimes isn't the best fit. 5 guys who get $100 limits slapped on them will make the noise of 50. As the forum world turns. =)

I wouldn't categorize exercising risk management as being bush league. So long as there's no bonus rollover involved, a book can limit you to $1 wagers if they want to, just a business decision. Take the balance out & move onto another shop.

I like you, you're a nice man and usually fair. You might lean just a tad with the book sometimes. And don't get me wrong I understand. However, is it a risk management decision to boot guys that win or is it more likely exhibiting bad will to other players?

I would not say he is leaning with the book....he is just correctly informing of why they cut limits. This is why they are able to pay as fast as they do and this is why your money is safe there.

So does this mean you are implying that these books lose. Or maybe it means I have to worry about losing my place if I win. That is ridiculous. What should I hope I lose so they don't can me. This makes no sense, it is a business and the business doesn't lose in the long run, ever. So a guy beats you, pay him like a gentleman and move on. It is bush.

What I'm saying is you don't have to worry about being paid because they observe those practices.

Are you limited to a buck on prop bets or limited that way across the board? I'm limited to 50 bucks on prop bets all over the net and I'm dumb as a rock, if that's the case I don't see any big deal here. For some reason I don't think we're hearing the whole truth yet. I know one thing, Tony does not like bonus whores, crybabies and pain in the asses, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the reason they are giving you the soft boot rather than you beating them PO.

i agree with that EVERYONE take your balance out and move to another shop which treats players better, and be sure
to let them know why you are moving your money.
i dont like that at all - every thing is fine as long as you are losing but take 5 or 10k off their ass and they change the rules.
if they do it to one they will do it to all.

Also Bookmaker, and a bunch of others. Enlighten me.

There are different levels of rec and pro books. 5Dimes is not going to lose money taking regular wagers but for bettor who are making trades based on betfair or Pinnacle they will. Those places have line originators and line movers while 5Dimes does a really good job setting an opening line and staying with the market. The lines are sharp but if your not moving the market people can play it against you. 5Dimes is already low juice so if someone beats them to a 4 cent move it can go -ev pretty fast.
I'd call the bet365s, VIPs and Justbet recreational. Bodog is too but you don't hear about them kicking people or lowering limits because they book to the player they want and don't complain.

I just think it's funny you are upset a book will set limits on a player but you talk up an outfit like Heritage that is by invite only! Hell they are scared to let some players even sign up in the first place! If nothing else 5Dimes takes all comers and goes from there, Heritage tries to cull the list beforehand and only allow the crowd that has absolutely no chance to win to even sign in to their place. Now that's being a pussy, get out of the business if you aren't going to at least give everyone a chance to play there.
For the record I'm not crazy about limits but I know it's part of the business. The high rollers and pro's (which I am not one) understand what books to play at and what books they are not welcome. Hard for me to knock a business that uses risk management to run their business. I guess if I wanted to pay their expenses I could tell them how to run the place. Until then if they pay the player on the way out they can limit and/or boot anyone they want to. Do I like it? No not usually but I understand it.

Take it for what is is worth. But, i was speaking with John at Heritage and he says that they do not boot people for winning. I too don't think it is right. I mean WTF. It is hard enough to win, and most of us won't win in the long run. Actually almost all of us won't, so that is bush. That is all I am saying. It is bush.
Next time I talk to him I will ask him the criteria for getting in. He told me that they have plenty of winners and paid much money to plenty of people that are still there. I can only tell you what he said

And if they only want total and 100% losers they wouldn't have invited me. Yes, I lose, absolutely. But, I have made plenty of wd's too from more than just a couple stores. I think it is something different. But, I am going to look into it. If I find out, so will you. Either way

Nothing wrong with that. If you have beaten them, they have every right to limit you. Take your $ and move elsewhere. As long as they pay you quickly, you should have no beef with them.

From 5dimes website: Wager Limits For each sport, 5Dimes sets a limit that can be wagered. The following outlines the betting restrictions: Phone wager limits are the same as those on the Internet. You may always ask a call center representative for approval of a wager over the default maximum. Wager limits vary from $5000 on major sports to as low as $50 on exotic propositions. Bets confirmed at or near the limit for a wagering option are generally reset within 1-3 minutes. Once a limit has been reset or the price updated on a wagering option, you may wager upon that option again. There is no limit to the amount of times you may wager upon a single wagering option.
