Your favorite sports moment of your favorite team?
Mine is, without a doubt, the vols winning the national title in 1998 over FSU. Peerless Price catching the bomb from Tee Martin and Goodrich's INT return for a TD were the highlights.

Red Sox coming back from 3-0 down to beat the Yankees in 2004 for me. Followed VERY closely by the Pats beating the Rams in 2001.

one of the best games ive ever seen. i think i watched vince play against new mexico state as a true freshman, at that point i couldnt wait to see where is career would take him. what a fucking talent. He used to make the game look like it was in slow motion and kids would fall off of him as they tried to bring him down.

I know you mean professional but truthfully it was coaching my boys to a win in the semi finals of our soccer tournament and beating a team 2-1 that we should have way been beat by.

I would say Montana to Clark but I wasn't alive then...would have to be the Niners taking the Packers out of the playoffs at the very end of the game with the catch that made T.O.

Agreed....From extra innings in Game 4 to the victory in Game 7 were the most stressful 72 hours of my life, as far as a sportsfan anyway. Damon's slam was absolute exhilaration.....

This is an easy one for me. I was a kid and we had season tickets to the Dodgers. And I was at Game 1 of the 1988 World Series. Kurt Gibson home run off Eckersley was the best moment ever for me! I get goosebumps when I watch the replay.

Mo, great topic. Mine is Game 6 of the '98 NBA Finals. Jordan steals the ball and sinks a shot in the final seconds to beat Utah 87-86. It would give the Bulls their 6th and final Title.

While not a dodgers fan you beat me to it. That moment was great. The man could barely walk around the bases.

I have 3.
The 1979 Sugar Bowl...the Alabama goal line stand against Penn State. I am a sucker for smash mouth football.
1985 Alabama/Auburn game...the kick. 'Nuff said.
1992 National League Champsionship Series with Sid Bream sliding home.

I have 3, too.
1979 in Pittsburgh - Championships for both the Pirates (We are fam-il-y!) and the Steelers.
1992 - Duke vs. Kentucky. 2.1 seconds on the clock - Grant Hill inbounds to Christian Laettner who dribbles once at the top of the key, turns and it was nothing but net, baby. 104-103, Duke in OT. They went on to win the National championship over "we have an extra time out" Michigan.
2005 - Seeing Dan Rooney get the Lombardi. No owner in the history of football ever deserved it more.

As much as i love collage football and all the great memories I have they don't even compare too seeing my nine year old daughter just kick the soccer ball on weekly basis. Congrats to timetopay and his sons team. Alison never has even scored a goal yet (she came real close several times over the past 4 years but maybe this year)can not even start to explain the excitement!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No troubles. I've been rooting for the team since they were born, so if I haven't learned to take the disappointments in stride by now, I never will.
One of mine was just a couple of weeks before that final out of the 2005 WS...Chris Burke's walkoff clout in the bottom of the 18th in Game 4 of the NLDS to beat the Braves and advance Houston to the NLCS that year.
Two of my earliest great moments as a fan came in 1967-68. The Texas Aggies started the year 0-4 and it looked like your typical season for A&M football. But then they won their last seven, winning the old SWC with a 10-7 triumph over Texas (that was the first time I'd been at an A&M-UT game and saw the Aggies win). To top the season off, we beat Alabama and Bear Bryant 20-16 in the Cotton Bowl, the victory secured by a neighbor of ours, Dave Elmendorf.

Your day will come, WillieBee...It's not like up here where one knows in a 1,000 years the Maple Leafs will still be trying to win their first Stanley Cup since 1967.
Incidentally, despite the pain it caused your Astro Brethren, that 1980 LCS with the Phillies is still probably the greatest series I've ever witnessed.

No lie, despite my team left holding the poopy end of the stick, that still ranks as the best playoff series I've seen. Ever. Went to all three games in the venerable old Astrodome, and it was as loud as I ever heard the place, even after they expanded and took out the huge scoreboard (may Bud Adams choke on his next pork chop).
favorite moment: watching T-Mac the autistic kid/team manager get inserted into the game with 2min to go and he hits 7 3's+, ends game high scorer in his only 2 min career. as seen on espn.

Louisville beating UCLA in '80 or Duke in '86, wasn't alive for the first one and was less then 1 for the second but watched the tapes of the games throughout the tourney, and its so exciting. Also beating ALABAMA in the Fiesta Bowl in '91 when noone gave us a chance. Also a game we beat FSU in the pouring rain a few years back, that was unbelivable. Final Four run in 04 when I went to every game that year in the NCAA's. Winning the Orange Bowl last season. There are just so many dude.
