I know the goal of oddsmakers is to get half the action on each side where they are perfectly happy collecting the juice.That said,I have a hunch that more action was on the Patriots,especially last minute big bet action and the sportsbooks breathed a sigh of relief when the Giants covered the spread,moneyline and went under.
Barring anyone having a bet on the Patriots that lost,I think sports bettors as a whole are now safer betting at sportsbooks because of the Giants bailing out the sportsbooks.I really think that there would have been more sportsbooks on shakey ground today if the Patriots would have routed the Giants.I have this vision of some sportsbook owners having their bags packed ready to get the hell out of Dodge if the Patriots would have won big.
