    Interpretation of Prop Bet
    Hi,

How would you interpret the following Super Bowl prop bet?

03:30 PM - Will there be a successful 2PT Conversion
    23069. Y-Will be successful 2PT Cnvrsn +215
    23070. N-Will not be successfl 2PT Cnvrsn -285

I put some money on No and the bet was cancelled since there was no 2PT convert in the game. Am I just reading this to literally?

I think this one came up last year.

I believe the book's intention is that there must be an attempt to have action, but they probably left that out of the wording.

If I recall correctly, the last time this came up, the book ended up paying.

Thanks for the info - I'll e-mail the book and see what they say. I'm not hopeful given my past experience in dealing with these guys.

“No” is a winner. The wording is unambiguous. Besides that, look at the odds. If the bet were really supposed to be conditional on there being at least one 2-point try, why would “No” be at –285? The typical NFL team has, what?, a 40-something percent chance to make it when they go for two? And once you factor in that this was a high total game with the offenses expected to dominate the defenses, plus the small chance there could even be more than one 2-point attempt, I would expect the “Yes” and the “No” to be roughly equal odds, if it were in fact conditional.

I would say no is a winner, I would for sure send them an email and let us know what they decide and what book it is.

If they did not specify that "there must be 2-point attempt for action", NO is a winner and the bok does not have a leg to stand on. Besides, as TLD mentioned, those lines are in line with an attempt not beng required.

I vote for "no" to collect also.

This issue was discussed last year in this thread, Bodog "2 point conversion" prop - No Action?.

                What's the book in question?

Agree completely that the odds would have been very different if the bets was simply a yes or no for a 2 pt conversion, but only if there was a 2 pt conversion. The odds show the book is trying to cheat.

Thanks for the all the feedback. I sent an e-mail yesterday to the book (Atlas) and when I logged in today, they had reversed their decison and gave me the win.
