Alex Smith can still get there. People need to quit listening to Collinsworth rag on him last night. There was some real flashes of greatness. He needs to be coached up to quit those mistakes. He looks like he wants it, coaches need to put him in position to succeed. The way the plays are being called, Carr is no better. If SF sticks with Smith, I wouldn't be surprised to see them finish 11-0, 10-1 or at least 9-2 and take the division. Check out that schedule, nothing but cupcakes left, they should be favored the rest of the way. They still control their own destiny @ 0-5, believe it or not.
Cutler is fine too. Same reasoning as Smith, above. Better coaching decisions and better talent around him will answer whatever questions need to be asked.
