Thanks for the play. Rams ML it is. Threads like this never end the way the thread starter would like. Happens all too often. Plus Stafford OUT who will throw to Johnson? Rams win.

Hill has proven more than capable of getting him the ball. In case you are wondering the Lions rank 7th in passing offense in the league.

Right, so just because they have the 7th ranked passing O they win this? Lions will run the ball all day. Keep it simple for Hill. Hill is a bitch. I would much rather have Bradford/Jackson than I would like to have Hill/Best. Defenses Lions got it. Close game. If I had to Rams get it done. No reason to p lay this game though. Much better spots this week.

I didn't say a 7th ranked passing offense guarantees a win. They are a very capable squad and would argue they have more all around weapons than St. Louis. The Rams have not played a squad with any fire power this year. They also played 1 road game all season and lost to the lowly Oakland Raiders.

Oakland is a tough team. And no you didnt say the 7th ranked passing O would get the win but you damn near made it seem that way. You could have mentioned any stat but you decided to mention that one. BOL to you but I honestly see the Rams winning this. Stafford was QB then I would have to readjust my thinking. Either way stay away from this one. Anyone playing this game is an idiot.

The Lions are 29th in both passing and rush defense. Bradford and Jackson have been successful against some pretty mediocre competition, but they have some wins under their belt. Shaun Hill faces a long day against that Ram def line.
Rams win.

This is coming from a Lions fan??? So you would have more insight on this game than an average joe would am I correct? I think the Lions D Line is solid. They will be the key I think. If they stop Jackson (which I dont see happening) they will force Bradford to throw. Rookie QB throwing = Bad Results more times than not. I still like Rams tho. LIke I said pick your spots. Too many games to choose from.

I think you might be right pico. The rams can't win on the road yet. Bradford is overated.

The Lions are getting better. They got screwed out of a win in week 1 vs the Bears. Right now, they are playing just good enough to lose.
The Rams are playing pretty good football right now. Sam Bradford is getting better by the week. Spags has the defense playing like the way his old Giant defenses used to play.
The Lions could win and St. Louis has yet to show they can win on the road. If I had to bet, Id bet on the Rams, but I do so without any strong conviction...

It's going to be close. I like the lions ability to put up more points here. Everybody is talking about the rams D-Line, what about the Lions D-line? Lions DLine will do some damage.

Honestly, you should NEVER have to lay points on the Lions. This is a classic PK tossup type game. I see Rams winning. But do yourselves a favor and DONT bet this game. FInd a better matchup.

Like another poster said - the Lions are better this year, but not enough.
Lions D line is better - but still can't put enough pressure on the passer - remember they are 29th in pass defense. And their secondary is soft
Rams D line is is roughing people up - making them 14th in pass defense.

When talking about the team rankings, you also need to look at who they have faced-
Detroit-
Chicago (away)
Philadelphia (home)
Minnesota (away)
Green Bay (away)
St. Louis-
Arizona (home)
Oakland (away)
Washington (home)
Seattle (home)
So the Lions have had 4 games against teams that are expected to compete for the playoffs (all of whom can throw the ball well too), and 3 of those games were on the road. The Rams have faced significantly weaker competition, with 3 home games. The Lions put up an average of 20.5 points per game against those teams, and the Rams averaged 19.25.
The Rams are obviously playing pretty well right now, and the Lions are without Stafford. Hill can still get it done though, totaling almost 400 yards against Green Bay. Better execution in GB territory and they might have won.... they had 4 field goals in the second half, including a 24 yarder.
I like the Lions at home here, and might use them in a teaser, although I hate crossing the '0' line. Lions by a TD

Excellent post here. People need to realize this game is on the Road where it is tougher to win especially with a rookie QB. The Rams played 3 games at home and 1 on the road against a minor league Raider squad. Also, the Raiders started Campbell in that game only to bench them w/ Gradkowski. If Bruce plays the entire game, we are talking about a wider margin of victory here for the Raiders.
Much is also made about the Rams D-Line and its toughness. I will give them credit, but will argue that GB's front 7 is far more superior to this group. The Lions O-Line more than held its own against the Pack. They also moved the ball up and down against them and everyone they faced this year.
Bradford is going to come back to reality a bit here. If the Lions contained Rodgers in GB, I feel they can at least equal that feat at home.
Good luck to the Rams trying to stop all the speed & talent the Lions have offensively. I see the Leo's winning by at least a TD.

Looking reallllll good so far. There are mismatches left and right all over the places. I just don't think the Rams have the resources to guard all the weapons on the Lions O.
