Man, Reds should just forfeit the series. They have 0 chance.

WHy is eveyrone proclaiming Phillies NL Champs already? This is the playoffs, anything can happen. All the pressure on Phillies, Reds have nothing to lose. Dynamic offense who can explode at any time. MVP Votto, SOlid Starters who can shut down anyone. Even the back end of the bullpen is good with Cuban Missile, Cordero, Masset and Ondrusek.

Reds will need Bruce and Stubbs to continue their tear the past month to be successfull in the playoffs.

Ill call Dusty and tell him to forfeit.

I like the Reds and I'd love to see them win this series.

Halladay's in his first postseason ever, I've never been sold on Oz and Hamels can be unpredictable. I'm sick of everyone talking about how that trio is the second coming.

Reds certainly have a right to show up. I think the Phillies win but I think its going to be tougher than people are saying. Could go 5 actually

                All we need now is:

Samsncharge to announce a "WE ARE" Play on Phils ML -225
                and Lang's DIME PLAY

I hate both teams, but I'd rather see the Reds here today. I think they actually win today. Everyone on the forum seems to be on the Phils so I gotta fade.

I think the Reds have a chance, not a big one, but a chance. What people forget is that the reds lead the NL in runs scored, but everyone thinks the Phils offense is the more explosive one. I would bet that 9 out of 10 would say that the Phils have a better offense.

Same reason they showed up to play the A's in the 1990 World Series when they supposedly had no chance. That was also the same reason the 2004 Red Sox showed up for Game 4 -- and Games 5-6-7 -- of the ALCS when they had no chance.

I remember in 1988 the Dodgers were told not to bother showing up the series against the Oakland A's. The A's had the Bash brothers Conseco and Mcguire, Henderson and all that great starters. Dodgers best player MVP Kirk Gibson was injured and couldn't play. I think we all remember what happened in game 1 and how the rest of the series went. The 69 Mets weren't supposed to have a chance against my vaunted Baltimore Orioles. We all know how that ended up. I remember being stunned. Then 1970 my Orioles were back against the Big Red Machine with Rose, Perez, Bench and May. No chance O's could win. I sure remember how that ended. The history of the playoffs is filled with teams that shouldn't bother showing up winning.

The 4 games series Reds and Phillies played back right before the All Star break was an indicator of what this series could be. Sure the Phillies swept but the first 3 went extra innings and the last was a 1-0 game. So that entire series coulda gone either way. Sure the Phillies are playing great right now and have all the postseason experience. But it's crazy to think the Reds have no chance in this series. I've seen the Phillies go thru stretches where they couldn't hit a little league pitcher. My depleted bankroll can testify to that. I lost a lot on the Phillies this year. So remember no team is unbeatable.

If the Reds can beat Halladay today that will turn it. We will see how Halladay performs under pressure today. Because all the pressure is on Philly. I may put $5 on Philly just to jinx them. LOL!!!

the reason the phillies are on top of most peoples plays are they are the better team and the reds will be lucky to score against Halladay and Oswalt,,,,,hamels is their weakest linc,,,and he showed it last start,,,

But come on now who the hell does the reds really have on the mound to match these guys,,,,,,

good hitters will not hit good pitchers,,,,,,,,

Remember their starting pitchers have electric stuff, it's just their consistency that is lacking. Remember that they possess an explosive offense. I'm also not 100 percent sold on the Phillies pen. Most importantly this is baseball when anything can happen. It's not like the number 8 seed in NBA going against the 1 seed here.

It's possible the Reds could win with some divine intervention or umpire interference. That's why they play (fix) the game.

Don't underestimate the advantage of Chapman in the bullpen for the Reds. It might seem insignificant now, but there may be some key late AB with guys like Utley, Howard, and Ibanez and it sure will be a luxury to bring in a lefty throwing 105 to face them.
