I would like to see some guys get help. As one of the 5 poster advocates, this would be great. We could name it the Brock Landers memorial. A lot of guys need help but few know how to get it.
I ask SBR forum to initiate a GA type help system for posters...

#2SBR home group meets in chat every Friday night
First week: new comer meeting
2nd week: Step meeting
3rd week:Just for today
4th week: speaker meeting
don't forget the 7th tradition
"Every group should be fully self supporting declining out side contributions"
That means you send the meeting chair a SBR point when the virtual basket is passed

#6I think a dedication to Pat Venditto is more appropriate.
To my knowledge there is no other poster who has lost as much AND as consistently as Patty.Comment -

#9One issue is that if you go to G.A. they will tell you that you need to stay away from sites like this. The answer for me is working the UCLA handbook for problem gamblers. It has a worksheet that balances income and gambling activities. If you stay within that framework there is no need for subjecting yourself to a 12 step program. http://www.uclagamblingprogram.org/Comment -

#10Best way to help these posters is to ban their IP's. You don't see AA meetings held at a bar, do you?Comment -

#11Paver you may be on to something. I don't understand why posters chase and bet over their heads. If I need to use my money on something that would make much more sense, I put my cash into my responsibilities. I guess I am just not as sick as these losers that bet their mortgage and partake in fraud just to gamble. It's disgusting.Originally posted by pavyracerBest way to help these posters is to ban their IP's. You don't see AA meetings held at a bar, do you?
Paver, the problem here is the ownership make cash from these books for advertising. If a GA type system went in place, it would be against their best interest because it would take cash away from books. That is why you won't see anything like this nor will the people making money care. Sad, but true. I don't necessarily disagree with that decision either.Comment -

#15I personally think education is usually a better answer then complete cessation... #21SBR is better than GA, they give you a second chance. After you lose your bankroll, save up your points, redeem them for some sportsbook cash, and you're back in the game. A free bankroll, thanks to your kind friends at SBR. How can GA top that?

#22Understanding the chemical reactions in the body when in action is an important step for those with "Impulse-control behavior disorder" { going on tilt). There is plenty of information on the net about this. The brain functions in a different manner due to these chemical changes . Educating yourself about this can save people a lot of heartache to themselves and others.Originally posted by LVHerbieI personally think education is usually a better answer then complete cessation...
