No pressure either way. I if lose, I lose. Didn't cost me anything to enter, and I am sure I will still come in first and win at least the $1500 regardless. Just thought the forum would like to know another member might win the grand prize rather than some random dude, and hopefully get some good karma going in those games. I would be routing from a fellow forum member to win it if my position was reversed.

Maybe he realized that he had a 25% chance of winning both and realized that he had far more EV in letting it ride instead of cutting into his gains.

Maybe he did not have the funds to hedge the play.

Who the hell are you to critique somebody for not making the choice on a play that you would have?

I can tell you for sure that he had far more value in letting the play ride but if he wanted to guarantee a payoff he had 2 options hedge now or let it ride and hedge the final game and increase his profit potential.

3 choices here and yours was not the only choice, IMO your choice was not his best option

I didn't even know I was 13-0 until just after the Oakland game started. Logged into the contest page around 4:00 and was shocked to see I went 10-0 yesterday, checked the NFL games, and was 3-0 on those so far with 2 pending. I would of let it ride anyway, my offshore bankroll wasn't really significant enough to make any kind of worthwhile hedge to a number as high as 15,000 anyway.

Oh well, first place is still $1500 and from looking at the standings, I am pretty sure 14-1 or even 13-2 should be good for first this week.

Sorry you missed out on the jackpot man, but a $1500 first place is no sour consolation prize. And, you knew your options ahead of time, weighed them, made up your mind about how you'd feel--win or loss--and took the result like a man. Definitely sign of a true gambler... Congrats man.
