I dont agree with his past, I do like to see him move on from it and succeed. His apology was sincere, he did his time, he moves on. Everyone gets a second shot.
Congrats, Mike.

So many guys in the NFL are scum it's good to see a guy who is less of a scum bag doing all right.
But hey, I'm just one of those crazy people who thinks not beating women or driving drunk is more important than the welfare of dogs.

Same here, happy for the guy. Commit a crime, go through criminal justice system, serve your time, pay your fines, complete rehab/probation program, move on with your life. That's the American way.

i know crazy isn't it.
stallworth, one month in prison, one year suspension from the league for running over a human being.
vick, nearly 2 years in prison, nearly 3 years out of the league for fighting dogs.
shit doesn't add up right.

My thinking is you torture your own dogs and put bullets to their heads you shouldn't get a second chance. Ted Bundy didn't get a second chance.

For the last time, the guy walked out in front his car on the highway. Vick provided the proptery and equipment, bankrolled the gambling , and shot/beat/electrocuted/ tortured them.

Stallworth's accident was not preventable. I mean it was 5:00 am with limited sight and he was going speed limit when a jay walker jumps in front of his car. He stopped and called the police and cooperated with authorities the whole time. He paid the family a nice settlement even though if he went to court he probably would have won the suit based on the facts.
Now Vick actually hired and bankrolled professional dog torturers and killers and was present in most of the crimes committed by his dog death squads.
The Sports Gal has a problem with it, but Bill finds himself rooting for Michael Vick.

If with religion you mean belief system, your belief system is your religion. Again, it matters not what it is. You believe in it, you are loyal to it, would defend it, and yet have no proof of it, other than that, at one point or another, you chose to believe in it. Self-hypnosis. What if there were a snapping of fingers that broke the hypnosis?

How about the guys who have DUIs? How about the ones who beat their wives/girlfriends? You excuse them because their actions were preventable?

If Vick bought a dog from someone and had him fought once and the dog didn't do good and he killed him I would have given him the benefit of a doubt and call it a lack of judgement mistake. Everyone screws up like this once in a while.
But Vick was the mastermind of a much bigger operation. He bought a house with the whole purpose of bringing in dogs and torturing them until they become good or die. Then he killed and disposed the dogs who didn't perform. This is not a once in a lifetime mistake. This is like Ted Bundy. He kept killing defenseless women until he got caught. Everyne gets a speeding ticket once in a while. Nothing wrong. You pay the fine and hopefully learn from the experience. Some people should not be given second chances. They should be condemned for life for the crimes they commit against humanity.

Anyone who thinks a dog's life is more valuable than a human's life has some serious issues. You eat cows and chickens and fish but think dogs are somehow any different. Fukking ridiculous. I think I posted this earlier and it's worth a look:
These are arrests and citations involving NFL players since 2000 that were more serious than speeding tickets. The San Diego Union-Tribune reviewed hundreds of news reports and public records in compiling it. The list cannot be considered comprehensive in part because some incidents may not have been reported and some public records proved to be elusive. Increased media coverage of incidents also probably accounts for more incidents listed in recent years.
Phillip Merling Arrested, charged with aggravated battery on pregnant girlfriend.
Jermaine Phillips Charged with domestic battery by strangulation, accused of choking his wife.
Richard Quinn Arrested on domestic violence and harassment charges after woman said he grabbed and shook her during an argument and grabbed the phone from her while she tried to call 911.
Get a clue, pal.
