In Alabama. Would they even score? How many points would the Browns win by? Just once I would love to see the best college team against any NFL team.

#13Actually from 1934 to 1976 the NFL champions from the previous year played a team of College All-Stars in Soldier Field in Chicago. It was a precursor of the current pre-season kickoff in Canton. Once in a while the College All-Stars did win. The last time was in 1963 when the College All-Stars beat the NFL champion Cleveland Browns 30-27. As you may guess, the All-Stars won more often earlier in the series. One thing to consider however, is that the All-Stars would only have a few weeks to practice together.
Although it was a pre-season exhibition, as you would assume the NLF champs hated to lose this game. I saw a few of these as a kid and specifically remember 1957 when Paul Hornung played for the All-Stars. Three times early in the series, the game drew more than 100,000 fans. Eventually the games got more one sided, crowds fell off a bit and coaches complained about their best draft choices not being able to report to camp until this game concluded. There was no game because of a strike in 1975. And in 1976 the game was shortened by storms. That was the end of it.
Google "college football all-star game" for more info if interested in the scores of all the games. It would be about the closest thing as far as an answer to these forum questions that pop up every so often.Comment -
