Take EVERY Single ATS or TOTAL at + Odds?

This is probably really stupid guys, but since we all know that the more bets one places ATS or on totals, we will approach the 50% mark. So I was wondering, since in the long run most ATS and totals are a flip of the coin, then why not just take ALL ATS plays or totals that are + odds? In the long run then, even if you hit 49-50%, then wouldn't we be profiting because we are getting + odds?
