I started off with a $300 bankroll and I'm not a newbie to sports betting/handicapping, but I have had my share of problems. I now have $40 left of my bankroll and I don't want to give up completely. I was just wondering what are some suggestions that will help me profit and get me back on my feet?

$5 per game and try to build it up, now if are not a compulsive gambler you will be fine with it. If you are a problem gambler you will bet all $40 and lose it and then re load some sneaky way at home.

With $40 left you should be reloading...but if you are a constant loser...why not just quit and try scratch off lottery tickets or bingo at the church with the grannies...

To get back to your original amount you will have to win over 7x the amount of what you have left...sounds like a very bad rollover plan...

no actually when i had my beginning bankroll of $300 I was betting by units.

1 unit = 2.5%
2 units = 5%
3 units = 7%
.......

I just got unlucky and went into a losing run for about a week and it basically erased all of my bankroll....

So would anyone have suggestions, like parlaying like games, tailing someone specific....?

throw it on a correlated parlay like packers/over
then if you win cash out the $144 and never bet again

if you're worrying this much about $40 and only have a bankroll of $300 it's not worth the time/effort/stress

i usually start at 50 and usually get to 300-400 pretty regularly. look at 40 like you would 4000. play it the same way.
