I am at stHiGhses. My son has been diagnosed with leukemia. I am on iPod. We have been in hell. Prognosis is very good and all should be just day after day of treatment. I am staying here with him. I love him more than my own life. He's my boy and tough as nails. I have always counted myself as a hard man but seeing all sick children is heart breaking. Tough place but staffed by the best. Remember us.

Update:

We have been here for 11 days. So far, so good. He has ALL, a common childhood cancer. Keep the prayers flowing as it will be a long journey but saint jude's is the place to be for this, so we are lucky.

You can see my pic in my av; I have always counted myself a tough guy but when I see these little ones that are going through chemo I break down. Then, when I see my own it's more than I can stand.

Update:

All is well here. My son is doing well with the protocol. There is a lot of waiting involved. They have him in school here at St. Jude's and we do tests 3 times a week and chemo once a week. The rest is just sitting in the room while he plays on the laptop. Prognosis seems great.

I do some light betting on this iPod touch. It occupies my mind. At least 6 weeks before we can go home.

Everything still seems well. It all becomes routine. . . Odd how the horriffic becomes routine

Actually he is strong willed and weathering things well.

Had a very close family member loose a fight to leukemia. I know everything u are going throu. I wish u and ur family the best

We are still here and things are as expected according to 'Docs'. My son is brave and strong. We have to go in for "intensified" chemo tonight as his spinal tap 8.5% leukemia cells and they like them to < 5%.

BOL on your bets to all. I will watch the CFB game tonight while they administer his chemo, he will play on the laptop.

Just read through this thread, Aristocles. I spent time in pediatric ICU, in really, really bad shape, when I was a youngster -- heart. I made it. Kids do get out of there. Just wanted you to know that. Best vibes to you.

All seems to be going according to plan, mostly. We are hanging in there and hope to be home around the middle of Nov

I do not want to bore you guys with these 'updates'. Mostly I just do it for myself, I suppose. I realize it is a downer and certainly not relevant, contextually, here. But it is my way of keeping up with the site.

We have been here for 5 weeks and 4 days now. All is OK. We are hoping for good report on our next spinal fluid check in ~ a week. I hope my fellow wagerers continue to send prayers. Thanks, all.
