Alright now this is not for the teams that you like, this is for the fans out their that love their team. Im talking about the kinda of fans that you can't talk to after a loss in fear of being screamed at! Like how I am with Lousiville, I mean I feel like Im out there playing with them. Lets say your team was in the championship game doesnt matter if its NCAABB,NBA,NCAAF,NFL,MLB, or NHL. You have a future bet for $100 already placed at the beginning of the year for their opponet to win it all, and it pays 50-1. If you had your choice to decide the outcome which way would you go? 5k or your team winning the title. . .
How loyal are you to your team???

#3I'll take a 4th ring in 7 years over $5k any day....and I'm pretty sure my BF would take the ring over $50k.
Of course, I would have had to be a damn FOOL to take the Giants to win the SB at the start of this year...Comment -

#6Lifelong Steeler fan here. The kind where when they lose, I really shouldn't be spoken to - at least for an hour or so. And if you come over my house with a Ravens' jersey on, you better run and hide. When the Steelers won Super Bowl XL, I cried because I think Dan Rooney was so deserving of that Lombardi.
However, I am a woman and I will always take the money.Comment -

#13Being a life long Hartford Whaler/ Carolina Hurricane fan, the year they won the Stanley Cup was worth far more than 5k. Besides the way i see it, i can just win the 5K betting, but your team winning is something you have zero control over!Comment -

#18I am very loyal to the teams I grew up with. You don't go to 46 years of Colt 45s/Astros games without attaining some degree of loyalty or affection. And I've been going to Texas Aggie football games longer than that.
However, I will still occasionally bet the other side, not often, but sometimes. And win or lose, either straight up or against the spread, while I may be either happy or disappointed, you can talk to me about it and I'm not going to bite your head off. I'll be damned if I'm going to let some 50-year-old coach and either a bunch of 20-year-old college students or 30-year-old baseball millionaires dictate if I'm going to enjoy my Saturday night.Comment -

And 22? You're just a baby! Okay, I'm only two years older...but it's not often I get to say that.
P.S. I likes 'em young.Comment -

#27yes LK1 is talking about the 86' Louisville Cards, when "Never Nervous" Pervis and Milt "Iceman" Wagner pulled out a great win over the Blue Devils led by Johnny Dawkins. I can't remember exactly who all they beat on there way to the title game, but i seem to remember teams like LaSalle, Temple, Creighton and some other smaller schools, or least not any of the schools that we consider powerhouse schools today.Comment -

#28Swede, 'the kid' is most likely talking about the '86 Louisville Cardinals (beat Duke in NCAA basketball finals). The 1986 MLB winners were the Mets...I know, because I was rooting for my beloved Astros in the NLCS that year, just another scar amongst several scars on my sports heart.Comment -

#33Beat Drexel 93-73 to open NCAA Tournament, got a Sweet 16 berth with an 82-68 win over No. 14 Bradley. Made it to Elite Eight by topping No. 8 North Carolina (94-79) and made the Final Four with an 84-76 win over Auburn to win the West Region. In the Final Four, they beat LSU (88-77) before downing No. 1 Duke by a 72-69 count in the championship.Comment -

#34i think the Arizona Cardinals(football) actually started in Illinois around Chi-town, i think.
Louisville has had a Triple-A baseball team for a while. they were the Louisville Redbirds a farm system for the St.Louis Cardinals, then the Louisville Riverbats, farm team for the Milwaukee brewers, and as of now they are the Louisville Bats a farm team for the Cincinnati Reds, they play downtown on the river at Slugger Field. At one time the Triple-A Baseball team and the UofL football team played at the same place, Cardinal Stadium, located on the Kentucky State Fairgrounds, also the UofL Cardinals basketball team plays on the fairgrounds at Freedom Hall, also the Louisville Fire an Arena2 football team plays there, and also on the fairgrounds property there is Broadbent Arena, where they have Motorcross, Rodeos, etc., but we used to have an ECHL hockey team that used to play there, called the Louisville Ice Hawks, then they switched names to Louisville River Frogs, then they folded and a new team called Louisville Panthers playing in the AHL started playing in Freedom Hall, then they folded.
UofL's baseball team went to the college World Series last year, and the play at James Patterson Field.
UofL's football team plays at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium.
and the UofL's basketball team will soon be playing downtown on the river when the new Yum Brands Arena is finished, and its being thrown around that it might be nicknamed "The Bucket", because of KFC being one of Yum Brands products.Comment
