Hey, I once had "two" LV beards! It was back in 1990, I believe.
At this time of my life I was up for a "murder rap!" True story!
Well, I was murdering every Book in sight, and had accumulated so mush cash on hand I was getting really stupid with over confidence.
Back to the "two LV beards."
I was running out of spots to play the games so fast I could hardly one place to reinvest "while that iron was still red hot!"
I flew to LV hoping to crack some more Book heads, and while there, I met this fellow about fifty some-odd years old, who I had seen before hanging around the bet joints.
We exchanged a few words and phone numbers.A few days later I flew back home.
I believe I won a few bucks on the Vegas trip, but once back home I ran into the same problem I had before, no Books will balls. So, then this
idea struck me! Why now call the ol' veteran who lives in LV and see if he would get me down some plays.
Unlucky for me, I did reach him on the phone number he had given me.
And yes, he was all for that deal. All I had to do was send the cash to him and his buddy[his partner in crime, I believe] and they would do their best to get me the best numbers they could from the LV strip books.
Sounded good to me. so I sent 2000 to my future investment beards?
To make this obscene story shorter, I won about 500, putting me up to 2500, yet my boys in Vegas seemed to be having trouble getting along with each other.
Disagreements, like, "I gave you the money," and, "no, I gave you the money!"
I finally was starting to realize just how dangerous this was...sending money to people you don't even know, plus, they were local bet joint, hang-arounds.
Hmmm, you might ask, where was my commonsense? I tell you where it was! I won two damn much money in a short span of time , I thought I had suddenly found a diamond mine that was right under my nose all the while, but just could not seem to see it before.
And, I couldn't find any place locally I could trust, or, that would take my play.
I was starting to feel like one of those spectacular thoroughbred race horses. I want to run so bad I am foaming from the mouth, yet, I corralled in this small fenced in area, with no gate opened to get me back to those tasty "green" grasses!
The end!
Yes, the ol' "not so sharp," beards, vanished into thin air. And so did my 2000 and the 500 profit!
What a shocking surprise , huh?
What's that old story about an "old fool?" Aw, you guys knew that from the get-go,didn't you?
But, ol' gullible and desperate me couldn't see the forest for the trees.
In other words, I was blinded by greed, gullibility, and simple, stupidity!
