John- You'll be missed. I had a lot of fun going back and forth with you here and at OGD. I hope that you won't become a stranger to the forums.
If you want I'll head on over to G911 with you and mess with them there for old time sakes .

I can ease your concerns, none of the people in your quote (JJ, Bill, or unknown) are 27. phew.
Having met SBR John in person, i can't imagine any place is better without him, but I obviously wish him all the happiness in the world. This place will be fine, but taking away excellence is never an immediate upgrade. However, there are a ton of good people working here 'behind the scenes' as they say.

SBR-John,
I have only been here for a few months and haven't personally had any problems with any books. But, I have seen the impact you have had on the industry in the 3 months I have been priveledged to be a part of SBR. I can't imagine what you have done for ppl like myself for the last several years. There is no doubt that it will be impossible for SBR to be the same without you, but I trust you have passed on tons of knowledge to the staff and subscribers as well. Best wishes as you open the next chapter. And may every one become better as time goes by. Please remain a poster and stop by to teach me some things from time to time. Many thanks, pal.

This year the entire SBR team will work harder than ever to bring you the best information along and some great fun. One new addition includes a robust wager tracker contained in an interactive and personalized page for each poster which we call MySBR. A new weekly video show with bookmakers and sharps breaking down the games, 3 major Beat The Prick - type capping contests(NFL, MLB, NBA) and the party of all parties, The SBR Bash in Las Vegas, are just a few of the parts of the wild year SBR has planned for you.
One thing that will change is that I will no longer be involved in the company after February 3rd, 2008. SBR has an excellent management team and an incredible team all the way around.
This move has been planned for some time. I’m looking forward to spending more time with family and with managing ongoing real estate ventures.
Many people created SBR and nearly all of them are still with the company. Players and sportsbooks alike can be assured the company will always be run with the highest standards.
I’d like to thank all the loyal SBR visitors and all the bookmakers who put up with me all these years. You guys are the best!
John

You will definitely be missed John as you are definitely one of the "good guys" in the industry. I first conversed with you from my home in Brazil around 6 years ago and you helped me resolve a problem with an offshore sportsbook that was giving me the run-around.
Congratulations on being a pioneer in "sportsbook reviews" and of the highest reputations in an industry where integrity and honesty are at a premium.
If you ever decide to open your real estate ventures internationally feel free to look me up at www.mjrdevelopments.com
Best of luck in your endeavors!
Ralph

Best of luck John, I've been around just under a year and know the impact you've had on the industry. But seriously spend time with the family? That's the best you can come up with? OMG. If that's what you want good luck. After they drive you crazy you'll be back.
Best wishes in your future.

I have only been member a few months now, but recently learning all about the sports wagering industry, I realize there is alot to learn, and when I was doing searches few months back, I kept seeing your name and decided to see what SBR is all about. I think its an amazing site and love the mix of unique posters with their insights and just random talk. I can only assume you have been apart of creating all that and I thank you for that.
Family is the most important thing in life, so thats a wonderful thing to be going to. Hope your planning on attending the bash, because I have seen other posters got a chance to meet and talk with you and I think that would be pretty awesome.
Best of luck to you, thanks for everything you have done, and make sure to keep in touch

You won't see changes in direction, only enhancements to what we have. Most of what we have in the works has been planned a year in advance and we still have a hefty project list. Lots of exciting stuff coming!

Looking forward to all the new upgrades. They really sound great. Sad to see SBRJohn leave. I haven't been here for long, but a cpl friends I talk to on a daily basis have been here for a while, or used to be here, and have said nothing but good things about John, and the way he put honesty, into a dirty game. He really helped change off shore gambling for the better. Best of luck to you and your family in the future John.

Hi John,
for the 1st time since i joined in august i haven't woke up and rush to the computer to take a quick 1/2 hr look before heading out and go about my business.
Only to come back later in the afternoon after work to spend at least a 1-1/2hr.minimum scanning and posting on SBR.
I stayed away from any sports or gambling news since the beginning of the NHL break(Friday). So imagine my surprise, disappointment and sadness this morning reading that you are leaving.I can only thank you John for your all the information, wisdom and advices you have provide to me personally,i apreciate that. You are a class act my friend,i wish you nothing but total and absolute happiness in the future since your success is a given.

This guy Walker is broke, got slammed in the market and betting sports and you boys are acting like he left on his own. He had to sell to make margin calls or get locked up.
I checked his SS# he owns no houses, ect. He pays rent in Texas for $770 a month and has tons of loans.
Does anyone want to bet me on this one???
