I dont know.....it was pretty intense, but......all this pompous bullshit afterwards looks pretty staged. 100k people coming back to watch the same game the following week. Was the fix in?
Anyone bet the Aussie Grand Final on ESPN Classic tonight?

#39That was fuking amazing.
Was that tying the equivalent of an NFL playoff game still being tied after OT, i.e. being basically impossible?? At least NFL would play another OT period then (I think).
That sport may be more exhausting than Rugby or Soccer..Comment -

I can't imagine the odds of a tie in an 80 minute game like that.Comment -

#44What will the line be next week?? Lower??
Is there an angle taking the dog or favorite, thinking one of them will find it tougher to bounce back emotionally? Physically, they should be equally depleted/refreshed.
Hard to say, the favorite (black team, wtf are their names??) blew a lead and drawed as 16.5 favs, while dog (red team) had a chance to win and blew it late, maybe now they lose faith and get beat soundly by the better black team; or are they now more motivated??
I WILL BE PLAYING THIS NEXT WEEK, SAME TIME ON SATURDAY (late friday/early saturday US time right
)??

#45The ML is out for next week sunde91.
Collingwood: $1.63
Saints: $2.30
So it looks like the spread will be a bit slimmer.Comment -

#62I had Magpies ML... I lose Half my potential winnings on Pinny... Went for 3 units.. lost 1.5 units...
what a ridiculous joke... That's not even by North American Standards... Did you see the players reactions... They are all bloodied and beaten... They wanted to play... what a stupid league office...Comment -

#64I'm surprised any money was returned at all unless the book didn't have the draw option. Sportingbet did at $51 so I'm assuming anyone who had an ML bet just straight out lost although maybe they took pity on people and refunded some of their money. Would've been a major payday for them though if they just treated the wagers as normal ones.Originally posted by Ace_of_Spades

#66It has been a rule since the start of the vfl that if the teams drew they would come back the following week Nd do it all again. In the 120 years of afl this is the 2 grand final that will be repeated. Was on collingwood to win by under 39, thought it was a lock at. Didn't take into account that collingwood always gets the wobbles in the finalsComment -

#673rd time: 1948, Melbourne/Essendon and 1977 North/Collingwood. But yeah, I'd be pissed if I had either ML bet. What a lot of buildup for nothing. At least Maxwell spoke out and said what I'm sure so many others were thinking although I doubt they'll change the rules anyway.Originally posted by Buckles85It has been a rule since the start of the vfl that if the teams drew they would come back the following week Nd do it all again. #68Collingwood have had a bad run with them loosing to the Saints last time they met in the grand final. But i'm in favour
of the rule to replay the final the following week. if your not good enough to win in normal time then you should come back the next week and prove who is the better team.Comment -

#70They must have used the dead-heat rule since there was no ML. That pays half the value to both bets.
