Agree. They're certainly an essential tool to have in the pouch, but if that's all ya got you're giving away too much.

It's awful tough to only fight somewhat efficient markets. Possible, but very, very hard.

It's much easier if you also bet at a lot of places doing dumb things, giving away free money (which includes many A+ books).

Matchbook typically usually has the lowest vigorish of all markets. On game day, they are often the most liquid. Low vig + high liquidity means this market is the most efficient. If a market is perfectly efficient, you cannot beat it.

The less efficient a market (or sportsbook is), the more opportunities there are. If SIA hangs +7.5 -110 when MB has +7 -109 / -7 +108, there is an opportunity at the inefficient market, betting +7.5 -110. There are often scalp/middles with less efficient books compared to MB. The value isn't in taking the scalp/middle, but just taking the mispriced side.

As far as books doing dumb things... look at props, teasers and other derivatives. A+ books frequently throw money out the window. You only have to extend your arms, and grab it. The opportunities do not exist at MB.

So you're anti MB then? I always thought they are a book (exchange, same difference) everyone should have because of the opportunities. So you wouldn't middle in the situation, you would bet the +7.5? Teasers and stuff are great to have, but they are viewed as mostly square, no?

I am not anti-MB. I player there and like them very much... but your win rate will be lower there than at most other books, because their liquid lines means they will get to the correct price before most other books.

Most value in matchbook is scalping

                            Anything else lines too tight

Matchbook, when used right, would be the best "tout" you could ever have

You are somewhat right.......but you have to remember, this is and exchange and there are STEALS there before the market becomes effiicent closer to gametime.

                                MASSIVE STEALS
