    Stock Market Update
Looks like the bulls are starting to run out of steam going into lunch. They may try to squeeze the shorts like myself during the next couple of hours, but I think a sell off is coming starting at around 1:00 PM. I'm looking for one last push here in the next hour or so and then I probably double my short positions that I have been taking pain on for the last two days.

Did you take those positions after the "stimulus plan" announcement?

Bear rally will peter out. We have to fix the banking problems before we can move forward.

Yeah I took 200 of DIA at $122.00 now $123.57 and 200 of SPY at $133.10 now $135.10. Both shorts with a generous 4% stop going into the close two days ago when they announced the stimulus package. I thought that I might have been in trouble of getting stopped out this morning because news was generally good. The last 3 days has seen 700 point to the upside since opening on tuesday and I feel that there will be profit taking later today.

For some reason I couldn't get on here to post around 1:00. Looks like the slide has started early. That kind of worrys me, so I took another half position in my shorts 100 DIA @ 122.9 and 100 SPY @ 134.07 instead of a full position. There may be a rebound coming soon. Even though it going straight down at this time.

Alright, a nice slide so far, now hopefully here comes the moneyshot with another 100 off the Dow and S&P before I cover half of my total position before the close.

O.K. last 10 minutes of trading again. I'm gonna cover half of my position either way. It is a election year and there will probably be some rally chearleading this weekend. I try to wait until the end to see which way the market goes.

Not bad Bought 150 DIA @ 121.80 (bank the money) and bought 150 SPY @ 132.65 (some more bank). Still have 150 of each for the future with a little head start for monday.

I think Dow will go up in first half of February, before returning to choppier waters. With market at 12,800 I called 11,500 bottom. It touched that before the 0.75 rate cut. Would be surprised it if returned there. Buyers are getting ready to get back in. I see a lot of short term profit taking, which suggests that they're testing the waters and will be back for more.

On that note, still time to load up on UA (Under Armour). Stock was punished (by short term herd) for investing in its first Super Bowl ad... (mentioned them a week or so ago at 30. Now back up to 35-36).

UA, already with a proven cutting edge, has enough guts and trust in their new athletic shoe to advertise it in the Super Bowl three months (!) before the product is even on the shelves. If they have THAT much faith in that shoe they are either crazy or have something very special. I'm betting on the latter.

The short teaser ads just aired twice in the past half hour on ESPN, so the shoe campaign is starting to heat up.

Was anybody long YHOO calls coming into today? I really hope that Yahoo's board accepts this Microsoft bid. I think it's the only way the company can survive in the long run.

That call on 1/25 was right on the money.

Dow way up, -now only 250 from 13,000-, and UA (Under Armour) from 35 to 44 at week's end. After a +25% move like that, take a little off the table.

Judging from how aggressive and innovative UA is, I'm beginning to expect they will eventually overtake Nike in the shoe market.

I'm not touching gold. It may continue to look good for a while, but the bottom will eventually drop out. Take profit as you go.

I should give more of these types a look. I was out of the country last week and I couldn't work the market in the morning. So my positions all got stopped out at a 3% loss. I haven't checked the gold price yet, but that probably had some profit taking too.
