Beat my old physical fitness record for points on credit!
Yes, believe it or not I was once a fanatic on staying physically fit? [okay, I hardly believe it either, now]

I have some personal records I am pretty proud of, so I thought , why not see if someone else here wants to summit their own PR' records, records that they are also proud of, and would like to topple any of mine? [we're talking mostly around 35 years ago]

*One very important note: I never CHEATED on exercises!

I always gave them my best effort. [unless ill, or injured] The old expression "a cheater never wins" was forever in my mindset on my personal fitness regimen. I firmly believe that when you cheap on an exercise, "you're cheating on your body's potential benefits and your own identity!"

Also noted: I did not play any high school sports. Too small and under nourished I supposed, but also throw in some born handicaps not worthy enough to mention?
My weight was approximately 160 to 175.

    Here are the categories.

    !. Running [Mile].....5:39

    2. Weigths [bench press]....3 reps with 200 lbs, and 8 with 190 lbs [squats] ..3 reps with 300 lbs.

    3. Pull-ups .....*18, only the last rep was not perfectly formed [ * hands facing forward , knees bent and feet crossed, chin "squarely" over the bar. [the bar being metal at least 1 to 2 1/2 inch in diameter, and rigid]

    4. Jumping ability.... Slightly under 5' 8", but could [on a good day] put fingers over the rim of a 10ft. basketball goal.
    5. Push-ups... 67 [ very strict guys, chest touching floor and no bouncing]

I realize some of the records are not that impressive, yet they were all that I could manage in my amateur sports career.

**Win my 20 points[pay next Thursday] and beat my pull-up record. *But do not sellout your honor to win?

*** Contest is over in 24 hours from now...2:40 pm. cst [ties would split !]

[ While I was in the military-Army for 6 months-I did witness a trainee do more than 23 to 26 correct pull-ups, and with a solid body weight, too!] No one in our company could even come close to that record!

Now tell me what PR'S you have set in your athletic, or personal fitness career? [weigth and height would be an important addition]

Abe, I will add 6 points to the total. The act of the donation will be my personal physical output for the day.

I just began the P90X program on Monday for the first time. It's beating the crap out of me so far. Was getting betwen 6-10 reps of pullups on most reps.

Abe, this is a rather unusual topic. Wouldn't expect less of ya!

My personal record for working out on a heavy bag. I didn't count time or number of punches, but was wearing good bag gloves with good padding. The next day my knuckles were extremely bruised and swollen purple. I was taking a course for higher education at the time and the instructor said to me with pity in her voice and on her face, "My god, what happened to your hands."

I couldn't write in class. It was a good workout but paid the price later. Maybe I didn't know when to stop?

            Top that!

Gosh Sickler, I thought you bought a ticket on the elevator that only goes one way, DOWN!

Glad you've recovered from whatever you "have?"

Abe, I still have the itch (and a heavy bag in the basement), but I'm getting too old for that kinda exertion.

So you will judge this how?

I didn't run or jump much, but weighing less than you, could do 225 bench max and 200 about 5 times, 20+ pull-ups, 70+ push-ups (like a year ago before injury and losss of motivation).

And I used to like you!

That's impressive! But, if you didn't do them strict, it would be much easier to do more reps.

I just dont see how posting your physical "personal" records on an internet forum means anything. Any schmuck on here can say they deadlifted an 18 wheeler and you wouldnt be able to prove otherwise, seems arbitrary to me.

I guess I am still naive? I have a hard time believing people state information that they know isn't factual?

Doing an exercise correctly would have to be performed with strictness! One example: A correct push-up should be performed with all reps involving chest touching the floor. There is a major difference in doing them correctly.

And most will cheat, maybe not intentionally, but will nevertheless.

*So if Sunde91 will state he did those pull-ups like I described in my first post, he will get the 20 points I offered? [20+? pull-ups]]

Unless someone verifies with their WORD of beating his PR in pull-ups before the deadline?

Doing an exercise correctly would have to be performed with strictness! One example: A correct push-up should be performed with all reps involving chest touching the floor. There is a major difference in doing them correctly.

And most will cheat, maybe not intentionally, but will nevertheless.

*So if Sunde91 will state he did those pull-ups like I described in my first post, he will get the 20 points I offered? [20+? pull-ups]]

Unless someone verifies with their WORD of beating his PR in pull-ups before the deadline?
                                                Only way I do them.

And yeah, 20+, think 23. Thanks for another contest

I can lift 24 12 ounces cans of beer 96 times.

I have pulled myself up off the bathroom floor 100 times

I can push myself up off the couch once before getting tired and falling back down.

The liquor store is a mile from my house. If it's 5 minutes to closing, I can get there in 4:30.

If you are only doing 8 reps at 190lbs on squat, I'd be pretty hard pressed to see 3 @ 300lbs. Full squat is also top of thighs parallel. Nothing else.

I squatted 335 lbs and deadlifted 360. Correct form too.

Wasn't very good at benching though...topped out at 215lb max.
